I’d say yes .. It gives you fully balanced amplification as well as the flexibility to switch class-A/AB and switch solid state/nutube … it also allows you to switch between line in and PRE-in. As sherry on the cake batteries are simply replaceable .. it’s definitely in a different (higher) league …

I definitely think it beats the Topping for sound and drive, but remember the C9 is an amplifier *without* DAC functionality… So it probably will be best served with the DX300 as source …

No because like any other DAP (Music Player) the power input is only designed to charge the battery. I would even argue that if anything, during playback a DAP would actually benefit from not being charged / connected to external power due to heat management. Charging batteries generate heat and...

Exactly. Operating from battery power instead of an LPS makes the C9 cleaner and more silent anyway. Having it depend on removable batteries instead of built-in batteries makes the C9 quite future proof. Form a performance perspective the C9 obviously cannot compare with a true desktop...

It's true that the CA1000T could be perceived as a tad sluggish .. However this is partially caused by the various app developers and not necessarily A&K themselves. I have seen versions of the Qobuz app being relatively snappy as well as atrociously slow ... In comparison Apple Music...

I partially agree. The Azurys passive characteristics could have (and should have) been integrated in the Bathys. And the price for the Azurys being so close to the Celestee doesn't improve things ... At that small difference I'd skip the Azurys and settle for the Celestee. As an example T+A...
