    Watts Up...?

if you use them balanced, which you should not do for speakers, I believe.

From my understanding that would be exactly the same.

    Watts Up...?

From my understanding, the XLR SE output would be exactly the same as the RCA output. If it were balanced XLR, then you would be correct. But you should not use XLR balanced to hook up to speakers in this case.

I am using the RCA and XLR outputs from the TT2, which I assume are both speaker level outputs. The XLR SE are driving the very efficient single driver speakers. The RCAs are driving the subwoofer. That signal would be speaker level, and is going into either line level input in the sub...

    Watts Up...?

Sorry, but I am talking about the input on the sub. Should it be line level input or speaker level input? I assume that using speaker level would strain the TT2 more. But using line level input may overload the sub since it is actually speaker level coming in. I think I am not explaining this...

    Watts Up...?

When I hook up the sub to the line level input, I need to have the volume on the sub at nearly zero. Whereas when I use the speaker level input, I need to put the sub volume at nearly maximum.

@Rob Watts , what would you recommend is safest to for the TT2, and possibly the sub, and what yields the best results? I know this is not your optimal setup…

    Watts Up...?

I read that if you put a speaker level output into a line level input then you can damage the subwoofer circuitry.

    Watts Up...?

Thanks. How about the subwoofer - should I be sending the RCA output from the TT2 to the line level input on the sub or to the speaker level input? Or does it not matter?

    Watts Up...?

From my understanding, as long as the TT2 doesn’t thermally trip, you are fine. Care to comment, @Rob Watts, for our peace of mind?

That is indeed the sub (Omega DeepHemp 8”) that I got to match my wonderful Omega Junior Alnico XLS 6” towers. The 6” speakers broke in really well and yielded more bass over time, but the really low notes were quite lacking in fullness. Now the 6”s sound even better with the sub. I was using...

    Watts Up...?

I’ve got my TT2 hooked up to single driver speakers with the XLR outputs (SE only), and to a subwoofer with the RCA outputs. Should I use line level or speaker level inputs onto the subwoofer? It is powered. I also assume that I hook up both left and right into the subwoofer. Thanks once again.

    Watts Up...?

To clarify, I am using the XLR’s output to drive the speakers, but single ended, not balanced - ie 1 (gnd) and 2 (+ve), not 3(-ve ). Is that what you mean? I am confused by what you mean by “XLR OP’s”.

    Watts Up...?

@Rob Watts , do you think that the TT2 can handle both single driver speakers (on XLR, sensitivity of 94.5db) and a passive subwoofer (on RCA) at the same time?

I was wondering if anybody had a piano key sweep to be able to test speakers. The idea would be to have a frequency sweep that is from a musical instrument, rather than a sine wave. And that appears that the piano has the widest range.

There already is a streamer. Big screen, bit perfect output via USB, large internal HD for stream download as well as FLAC etc, battery powered so no ground loop issues. Works very well. You can even use it with Bluetooth if you need portability more than SQ.

I didn't notice a difference either. But I decided to go half way. This is my setup. Just got the board today. Looks nice. The cables self support because they are curving downwards, and with proper positioning the torque makes the cables pull backwards, not down, on the connections. I...

I am using Wave cables, and really like them. So why would Wave cables require the components to be separated? Is it a matter of keeping the ferrites away from each other or bending, or something else? Also, I have notice that leaving the TT2 on all the time, as you recommend, seems to give...

Also heat, if you stack hms and tt2 and also ttoby, things will die faster than they would if not stacked one on top of each other. @Rob Watts , is it best not to stack the HMS and TT2? If it is best not to, how separated should they be for optimal performance and longevity?

    Watts Up...?

Now that I have good speakers, and am working on speaker cables, I am repositioning my HMS and TT2. I had them stacked before, and I noticed that playing speakers makes them heat up a little bit more than when just powering the headphones. Is there a need to separate them? If so, how far...

I am noticing a new high pitch sound (low volume) coming from the TT2 when the display is on and the volume is around -10 to -5db. I hear it more when the display is not on dim. I also hear it whenever the display is on at other db, but at a lower intensity. It is not a problem for listening...

Sorry, but I am confused. I thought speakers were fine just as long as they both have the same polarity. Is ground negative (black) on the speaker? And is your numbering is different from this image, where 1 is the shield, 2 is hot, and 3 is ground.
