Must be one of my most played albums in all those years, lol. Loving it to bits. ... Checking in on the burn in rig. Gotta prep any new set of puppies with the right vibes right from the start.

I first heard Don in '78, still a kid when a new neighbor moved in next door; the ex of a famous keyboard player, smoking .... like there's no tomorrow, playing Zappa, Gil-Scott Heron, Can, reggae and whatnot day and night... definitely changed my life as well. FF to here and now, greetings...

Another free jazz album that makes me feel like that young kid getting totally carried away by all those beautiful strange vibes coming out of his radio almost every night, many many moons ago.

Got some new IEMs today and been rolling tips, cables, DACs and not at last tracks for hours. Just some albums that made my day after all ... ... and this live compilation from the MoonJune records Toledo festival (favorite track):

I just have a couple of their albums and once I saw your post .. how ever much I like them ... I haven't listened to any or their music in ages, probably a decade. For whatever reason they didn't even show up once during my global shuffle sessions or walks. Strange, gotta check some settings ...

It's easy to be overwhelmed by even a handful of artists, all their releases incl. bootlegs plus biographies ... think of Zappa, Miles or i.e. Stockhausen with their extensive œuvres incl. live performances and I'm not even mentioning their sidemen ... who hadn't played with Miles after all...

Same here. Zappa, Weather Report, Miles & his sidemen (loads), Can, Stockhausen, Marvin Gaye, Roy Ayers, Kool & the Gang, Earth, Wind & Fire & the usual suspects from the soul & RnB camp ...to name but a few ... again loads of stuff from the late 60s up to around '75 I guess I'll keep my rigs...

Sorry for not expressing myself clearly enough. I have almost all of my albums named, organized (folders) and tagged just fine, no probs and can find anything I remember and want to listen to or e.g. anything by any artist in an instant. My issue is just the sheer amount of tunes - aka soo much...

Dunno how you guys keep track of your albums but I'm slowly losing track of what's buried in my collection ... I haven't counted anything in a good while and the usual means don't really work in that jungle of folders, subfolders, etc ... oh well. Anyhoo ... still got the player and PC (foobar)...

Reminds me of the old days here when @Slater was still around (mod in peace, bro) and he and some other nerds here were modding the living cr@p out of those KZ, CCA, TRN, BLON, etc..., including 'inside jobs' ... opening them up, dampening individual drivers, etc... Not for everyone but OTOH no...

Can't go wrong with either one. The first time I've heard Yussef D. play (on 'Black Focus') I went 'who in hell is that?' Right on, mate 👍 and a new one (for me) ... just loving Abdullah's work, gotta look out for more and finally something I bought on BC yesterday ... loving the early...

+ some live UK jazz for good measure ... can't get enough of those young cats and their brothers like Yussef Dayes, Kamaal Williams, Tenderlonious, Dennis Ayler, ... to name but a few.

I have them all but as with most groups I like their former albums a lot more even though this one isn't bad at all. BTW ... I've been watching the following concert on UT more than once, simply fabulous ... makes me miss Pamela Anderson and Joy Malcolm even more.

I bought one of those ivipQ cables during their last sales for ~13€ and soundwise on some of my single DDs w. different DACs/dongles it's suprisingly close to my way more expensive XINHS pure silver cable. Not a big fan of the outer woven material as it can get stained easily but otherwise €€...

Same here, for many years I only had my vinyl rips but some years ago my friends asked me to rip their entire CD collection to flac and voilà 😀 Just mentioning the WDR triggers waves of fond memories since it's my (ex-)hometown station and I grew up listening to their jazz channel (WDR 3)...

Boy ... this brings back a ton of memories from the early-mid 80s, lol. I still have all their albums and like some other folks favour the first ones when DLR was still their front guy. It really hit me when I heard of Eddie's passing four years ago. Been spinning the next one the second time...
