Also, if you plan to tube roll a bit for the MJ2, I would also recommend getting socket savers. They elevate the tubes up a tad higher and it's easier to get them in and out of the amp.

I love the old chassis designs from Schiit and built like a tank! If you’re sticking with the 6DJ8/6922, then maybe try throwing in some Gold Lions 6922 or Amperex (A-Frames) 6922. Sylvanias are good too…they are lively and dynamic sounding.

I know the Arctic Cables entry level stuff isn't mentioned much lately, but I too have a Define and Prisma cable recently bought, and both are fantastic and very underrated. You are getting a ton of quality and value at their price points, and they are excellent cables!

When you swapped tubes…you swapped both input and power tubes? Or if you couldn’t see anything internally, did you check the headphone jack itself and connections there?

Should work ok with 6as7 for sure. I think that some recommended 7236 came when some might have experienced clipping at higher volumes. Others just like the sound better. lol. But these were just the notes I had when I was looking to get 600ohm headphones. Let us know how you make out!

The only thing I would add here that may or may not be useful is that I’ve heard DV users who did run 600ohm headphones got better results using them with a 7236 power tube. Might have a bit more juice that could be more optimal for them. I personally don’t know, and never went down that rabbit...

The only person I know of that has owned a T1 before (not sure about which gen) is @SHIMACM who liked it on the Darkvoice, but IIRC he had the 600 ohm version. He hasn't been around so not sure if he will chime in, but you can search for his posts as I recall we had talked about it before here.

I actually had a similar issue with the AC branded 3.5mm connectors on my Focals, and boy, did it kick my OCD into overdrive. They should definitely keep track of these or put a disclaimer that these particular connectors sometimes don't fit flush all the way on certain headphones. However...
