    ThieAudio Legacy Series IEMs

Actually, for my taste the biggest difference with foams may be that some of the bass is missing, but the low subbass stays the same? Makes everything more clear. For example drums sound way better this way, since the "rumble" stays but it does not mix with the mids anymore. Probably just better...

For everyone owning Legacy 4: Try it with foam tips. I switched to foam only a few months ago mainly because of comfort. I tried XELASTIC, but I realized for me they sound way worse this way. SpinFits sound much better, but with foam it is the best and the most comfortable. Usually I do not have...

    DAC difference

Maybe they hear an audible difference because the manufacturer did not create a transparent dac, but changes tonality?

If this was the case sooner or later bit flips would occur. However, in practice this does not happen.

Okay, but if you agree with me here. How does anything matter that comes before the read from disk? Essentially you agree, that RF noise can be removed by writing to disk? So why care about RF noise and cables then? (And let me say: I even disagree that there is accumulating RF noise over the...

@bluecar: I can only repeat what I said earlier: However, everything you say does not explain why there should be any noise/jitter/whatever left after it has been written and read from disk again. I also have to strongly agree with @bfreedma since I am also working in the same field. Also there...

What if I use bit-perfect optical or WiFi from PC to DAC? Then I would only need to upgrad the power cable of the DAC!

I do not get how you come to the conclusion that ethernet cables matter based on your own answer... :/ Maybe we can both use the same diagram to better communicate: Source (server) ----> Router 1 (based in your ISPs routing center) ----> Router 2 (home router) ----> PC ===> DAC ----> =...

For a minute, let's assume there is something to improve from your PC to your DAC which is connected to the PC via TOSLINK (optical). So I do not want to discuss this part with you. Here is a scenario that I want to discuss: I download a very complex file from a server, e.g. my Google Drive and...

    ThieAudio Legacy Series IEMs

Just wanna add that these look way darker in real. Looks a little bit like the dark resin was used over the face plate instead of a clear one.

Explanation: User bias and expectation. Noone has ever done a controlled blind test (the only thing that matters).

iFi Audio being another dishonest company is not that surprising looking at its product claims. You will not get an answer from them I guess.

Comparison with L3 would be better. Does the L4 have lower quantity or lower quality bass compared to L5? I want something with more/similar subbass than the L3!

The L4 however looks thicker than the L3. :/

How much subbass does the L5 have compared to the L3 and which extends lower?

    AUDIOSENSE in-ear monitors Impressions Thread

I have two pairs of AQ3 and one of ThieAudio Legacy 3. The Legacy 3 has more subbass than the AQ3 for sure, but less midbass. Just wanted to clearify this since the graphs do not reflect that!

    Do USB cable matter ?

@bluecar: Would'nt you agree that the RF introduced by a single cable should be super (unhearable) small. Also a super cheap cable with ferrite bead should be more than fine. I would assume any cable from 1$ - 5$ should be fine.

    Do USB cable matter ?

There are already 1000000 threads on headfi about this and the simple answer is: If you believe in science, it does not matter. If you believe in the audiophile gods then it does matter for you.

    AUDIOSENSE in-ear monitors Impressions Thread

Does anyone else have the problem with the AQ3 that I every slightest movement makes noise and I can hear my heartbeat (not cable noise, just when you move your ears or mouth). With the ThieAudio Legacy 3 I have this problem much less. Since I am listening at low volumes this is a major...

    AUDIOSENSE in-ear monitors Impressions Thread

The problem is that the bigger the shell, the more the comfort depends on the shape of the IEM. Small shell means it will fit more ears since a more generic shape can be used for the IEM. Same for small diameter nozzle. I do not have a problem with the size of the nozzle itself, but bigger...

    AUDIOSENSE in-ear monitors Impressions Thread

Hell no. What use has good sound if it does not fit the ear. Thinner and more ergonomic is better. I have the ThieAudio Legacy 3 and the AQ3 here. Even though both have nearly the same size, Legacy 3 is so much more comfortable because of ergonomic shape and being thinner. Also thinner nozzle...

    ThieAudio Legacy Series IEMs

Btw: For me the fit with the QDC cable is very bad since it does not extend long enough away from the ear. With normal 2pin cable the fit is ideal!

    ThieAudio Legacy Series IEMs

You probably confused me for someone else. I mean I do not hear any difference, but I am very happy with the L3. I meant to say that I cannot explain differences in sound that some have from reversed polarity!
