NEW HiBy R4
Probably, but I'm in the does it really matter camp. I could talk about batteries but suffice to say there will be a R4 ii long before anyone's R4 batteries, charged to 100%, lose 20% of their original capacity so why cripple it to 80% now? Just don't leave it charged to 100% too long.- MarkParity

NEW HiBy R4
For those people wanting to charge the battery to 80% I have a simple solution. Take the battery out and replace it with a battery that has 80% of the capacity of the original then its guaranteed to always charge to 80%.- MarkParity

I have no issues either, one of the more comfortable IEMs for me and my ears can be fussy, I thought I'd have to stick with custom's but this works great for me.- MarkParity

True, I hope yours always continues to work and if not I suspect Chord have lost a customer. This continuing disregard for customers must be damaging Chord, but as long as they are selling stuff everything is good. I hope you are reading this Chord.- MarkParity

Sennheiser IE900 Review, Measurements, & Harman Target Talk
Are you happy with the ie900? I have the Moondrop Variations and my opinion is it doesn't beat the ie900 at all, to me it sounds like its trying too hard, the ie900 just knows what it is and simply gets on with the job of delivering the best possible sound effortlessly. Of course all of the...- MarkParity

Chord changed the servers to save money, clearly it didn't work but they are saving money so objective achieved. Just another way to annoy customers, I expect support know exactly what the issue is, will they go back to the original server, no, so support are now stuck in the middle of the...- MarkParity

It would but it will never happen. Those two don't have support in any apps. There is a tiny chance for Qobuz or Tidal though which I'd settle for. Personally I can't see any major new features, I'd happily eat my hat if it happens. :)- MarkParity

Sennheiser IE900 Review, Measurements, & Harman Target Talk
I tested the Azla SednaEarfit ORIGIN tips, I got the "M" size. They fit the nozzle of the IE900 and stay put both on the nozzle and don't slip out of my ears. Comfort for me was great I barely know I have IEM's in my ears. I got a good seal and sound quality was good too. If it wasn't for the...- MarkParity

It happens. In GoFigure "Refresh Current SD Card Database" and in Rigelian "Update DB" if that doesn't fix it try deleting the files in the root of the SD card and build the databases again. If that doesn't fix it copy all your music off the card, reformat it and put the files back a few at a...- MarkParity

Cayin N6ii, Unlimited Possibilities: a fully modularized smart DAP
For Tidal you could install USB Audio Player Pro and add your account info into the Tidal streaming section. Offline playback isn't available but it should stream OK. Perhaps try before you buy as I don't use Tidal with UAPP so I have no idea if it will actually work. Apple Music, nope that one...- MarkParity

Plenty of portable devices are more than good enough to drive most full size headphones. Would you consider the Focal Stellia a full-size headphone, it certainly has a full-size price and can even be driven from a smartphone, assuming it has a headphone socket of course.- MarkParity

What are you talking about, I use mine as a portable device all the time. Stick an SD card in Poly and its a perfectly usable non-streaming DAP with separate screen, your phone. I once got into a discussion with someone here on Head-Fi that wouldn't accept that the Poly/Mojo combo is a DAP...- MarkParity

Thieaudio Monarch MKIII impressions, reviews, and pictures thread
You guys must have awesome ears, to hear a difference, I can't find any measurements for the DC Elite but I expect it to be flat +/- 0.2dB. I found a frequency response graph for the R6 (not 2nd Gen), as expected, without EQ its basically flat from 0Hz to 20kHz. Perhaps I'm a flat-source'r. :)- MarkParity

Boomy bass is sort of the point with tracks like that, honestly I'd suggest turning the volume down a bit it sounds perfect to me at my listening levels 65-75dB, if you are pushing the volume much above that then a bass heavy track with an IEM like the MMKIII will start to sound a bit over...- MarkParity

I gave it a listen, currently listening to track two as well from the album, sounds great to me. This is not a genre I listen to a lot but I'll listen to anything, once :) I'm driving my MKIII from an IBasso DC Elite, what is your source? Not too sure what you mean by wet but I'd imagine if...- MarkParity

A loaded question as your signature implies you believe a battery source is better as you use one yourself. My take on this no if the designer has done a good job then no the difference between powering with battery or clean mains electricity (the DNO stuff most people have in their houses)...- MarkParity

Introducing ONIX Overture XM5 - First Portable Player from ONIX
You make a good point, this one isn't really suitable for low impedance IEMs, luckily there are plenty of 20-30 ohm IEM options. I wonder how many people do actually use IEMs with DAPs though? I'd imagine more people than use DAPs with IEMs than full size headphones but I'm not so sure based...- MarkParity

Chord Mojo 2 Thread ___ [product released January 31, 2022 -- starting on page 95 of thread]
G5 gets golfing panther status so it will be better than Mojo 2. Anything else will be subjective psychoacoustics so you really would have to compare for yourself. Might not be the answer you want but its the correct answer- MarkParity
