I’ve owned my Anandas for nearly a year and my HE4xx for two years before that without a single issue. While not as bespoke looking or robust a build as my Kennertons, they are lighter, more comfortable, better sounding, and reliable as that pair and any other pair of headphones I’ve ever...

For those who have experienced the Anandas on a OTL (specifically the DarkVoice) amp and didn't like it, I'm curious as to what you didn't like about it? Perhaps I'm missing something (understanding that we all have different tastes? The combo* works extremely well with these especially with...

Welcome. We look forward to your impressions. Don't forget they don't come into their own until 100+ hours of use - and they only sweeter from there! Marc

Skywalker, I’m curious about your impressions of the Ananda and the DV. It was recently discussed that OTLs and planars don’t mix, but I’ve been extremely pleased with my Ananda/DV (rolled) combo (and my buddy’s Sundaras - it’s sound on par, sometimes better, than the Modius/Magnius (balanced)...

I’ve owned my Anandas since August as Hello, I’ve owned my Anandas since August and easily have over 200+ hours on them. It took almost 150hrs to “come into their own” so to speak. I never thought of them as “sibilant”, but I do agree with most that it would be nice to have a bit more...

Funny, sounds like you went to the same store I did (Gramophone) where I performed nearly the same save the Utopia. I did, however, compare the Elex. The amp used was a Macintosh with Tidal source. I came to the same conclusion. Thanks he Audeze failed to impress - too muffled and lacking...

For shiitz and giggles a buddy of mine performed such a test. My results were slightly better than his @ 97% vs. 89%. Still very decisive. L That’s an interesting question. I started my headphone journey with a DarkVoice amp, Schiit Modi 3, and HiFiman HE-4xx. I upgraded to the Ananda recently...

Good point. Perhaps if they were still priced at $999 they would be compelled to include a better quality cable. Marc

I'm not sure if I can tell the difference between any two cables, but I can tell you that I can clearly tell the difference between my stock Ananda cable (crap) and my Periapt. The cables that came with my old 4xx was also better than the stock Ananda cable.

I agree. I’d opt for copper. I went with Periapt. They offer you choice of colors, lengths, and connections for a reasonable price. Each is custom made. Expect 2-3 week delivery. Marc

I too own a pair of Anandas and, like many, opted to have a second pair of headphones to compliment its somewhat analytical nature. I purchased the Kennerton Vali. It’s presentation is very different being more V-shaped. Reproduction of percussions is impactful making some music quite engaging...

    Darkvoice 336i & 336SE Tuberolling PartII

Thanks for all the information. I will definitely consider some of these options the next time I perform the next series of "rollin". I'm a BIG fan of the Svetlana "Winged C" 6H13C and it's currently my standard power tube. I have found it to pair very nicely with a myriad of driver tubes from...

    Darkvoice 336i & 336SE Tuberolling PartII

Anyone have any interest in this trio of very low time (<20hrs each) driver tubes? I no longer have a use for them and they deserve a new home! RCA 6080 GE 6AS7GA RCA 6AS7 I have these for sale. PM me. No reasonable offer refused! Cheers!

I'm using a tube-rolled Darkvoice 336i. I don't have a SS amp to compare it to except my Dragonfly Red which also sounds great. I've been contemplating the purchase of a solid state amp, but I'm too tickled with the performance of the DV. I would not be surprised to hear that the Ananda pairs...

I believe it’s a combination of things.I purchased my pair at the end of July and it took well over 100 houra of listening (probably closer to 150hrs) for them to smoothen and come into their own. I even remember considering returning them. I’m glad they were given the chance they deserve - and...

    Musical Cans?

I recently upgraded my modded HE-4XX (which are for sale) to the Anandas, which by comparison are entry level reference headphones. I'm seriously contemplating the Kennerton Vali as my new second pair. Just sayin'. MrMarc

Has anyone heard of Periapt cables?

Like Brooklyn said, be patient. They are worth the wait. I found them to be better in build and slightly better in sound quality over stock cables. Needless to say, the customization is a plus. MrMarc

    Any One into Custom Watches?

I'm just getting into the SKX game and am having my first watch built by a guy that works for me. I'll keep you in mind for future builds (my guy is too slow!!). Here's a pic mid-build. I may do a "root beer" one later this year. Best of luck with your efforts. I'm looking forward to seeing...

    Darkvoice 336i & 336SE Tuberolling PartII

I gave up on the NOS stuff for tube rolling on my DV and landed with the Winged-C 6H13C (6AS7) and the Psvane CV-181-TII (6SN7) and thought I couldn't be happier until I purchased my Anandas. The sound, while quite good, was a bit too "clinical" for my tastes. I recently swapped in a Psvane...

I purchased my pair of Periapt cables mostly because the original cables that accompanied my HE-4xx were too short. Now that I have the Ananda and have compared the stock cable (Ananda) with the Periapt, the differences are subtle. My impressions are that the bass and midrange is clearer and...

Well, I’m about to join “Club Ananda”. I’ve been following this and other threads trying to decide which pair of cans to get next. Given the (reduced) price, they represent a virtually unbeatable value proposition. The deal I got from Headamp.com was particularly compelling. If you’re on the...

Hello, I recently had my buddy's X2HR to evaluate it against my modded HE4xx and it wasn't even close for music. I can only imagine the gap widening versus the Sundara or Ananda. While a very good and "fun" pair of cans, it could not match the detail, sound stage, or accuracy of the 4xx on my...

Chalk up another vote for Periapt. Custom cables of very good quality. Pick your length, colors, and connectors and away you go! Reasonably priced. What more can one ask?
