Playing devil's advocate the clips do fall off quite constantly. However what is this "distorted" sound? Sounds like a defective pair or a hair in the driver.

The one problem with the K81DJ is that it's pretty uncomfortable. I can't wear it for more than 2 hours or so without discomfort.

If you enjoyed the SR125 you'll most likely enjoy the rest of the SR line-up, I'd say a pair of SR60s would have you satisfied. Raise the bar a bit and you have the SR80 and MS1 to choose from.

A good pair of K81DJs or K181DJs will supply you with good bass, good isolation, but still acceptable mids and highs for general listening. Sony V700's would have the sound for your purposes but break like the wind.

How about both? Send your KSC75's to Koss for 6 bucks, and buy a pair of MS1's. Then you'll have a good starter portable phone and a good starter home phone. So that would be the price equivalent of paying the shipping for the MS1's yet having two headphones.
