The Official Sony NW-WM1Z/ NW-WM1A Flagship DAP (Live From IFA 2016)
Buy Sony NW-ZX507. I had it before I bought the NW-WM1A. The NW-ZX507 has terrific warm sound - as good as the NW-WM1A with Mr. Walkman's firmware (discussed here) tuned to the warmest signature. Maybe, even better. Its main problem is that it only outputs native DSD on the balanced 4.4 output...- Ursego

Hopefully, it won't be on Android, and will output native DSD to the 3.5 jack...- Ursego

SONY NW-ZX500
I described exactly what happened and I can’t even imagine what else can be added to this. But it doesn't matter - I return the player anyway.- Ursego

SONY NW-ZX500
The sound was already amazing after burning in for some time (not sure for how many hours), but something went wrong, and the sound suddenly - booom! - became terrible. The device is defective, I am returning it. Probably, will buy NWWM1A later.- Ursego

Compiling a list of smartphones with native DSD support
Do they really have the hardware (DAC) which can convert DSD to analog as Native (i.e. without converting to PCM)? I listen to DSD in my Samsung Note 8 using USB AUDIO PLAYER PRO (which overcomes the Android signal processing, i.e. the signal comes to the DAC in its original rate, without...- Ursego

SONY NW-ZX500
I have a strange problem... The sound in the 4.4 jack suddenly became terrible (quiet, flat, muddy, dull, lifeless), while in the 3.5 jack it's still brilliant. I have restored the factory settings of my 507, but that didn't help. The device is new, bought 3 weeks ago. Any idea?- Ursego

SONY NW-ZX500
The UAPP description says it plays "DoP, native DSD and DSD-to-PCM conversion". Can it output native DSD to the balanced jack as the 507's built in player does?- Ursego

Don't use them in the wireless mode - only with the cable. Anyway, I am going to buy planar, electrostatic or ribbon headphones. Need to do a serious research.- Ursego

SONY NW-ZX500
I am using headphones with active noise cancellation (Sennheiser Momentum 3). They are good since, when connected with the cable, the sound processing is purely analog (in contrast to many other headphones with ANC), so the the DSD quality is not compromised. From the other hand, these...- Ursego

SONY NW-ZX500
It's true. That's why I have bought a 3.5 to 4.4 connector, so my player is looking now like an electronic cigarette: :dt880smile: I don't in most cases. Only if the record is not high quality and I need to fix that as far as it is possible.- Ursego

SONY NW-ZX500
I am listening only through 4.4mm. So, you say that it outputs DSD always, even when DIRECT is off (if it's through 4.4mm)?- Ursego

SONY NW-ZX500
Hi guys, A small question... If I am listening to a DSD file when DIRECT is off, is the stream converted to PCM (if all the effects, such as equalizer, vinyl processor etc. are off - I know that if an effect is applied, it's converted to PCM for sure)?- Ursego

SONY Walkman NW-ZX507 and DSD Native
How can the player know if it's a real balance cord, or a non-balance cord, connected through a 3.5-4.4 connector? I think, DSD Native should be just sent to the 4.4 port with no worrying what happens with he signal outside the device (but I could be wrong, I am not a specialist). Can you give...- Ursego

SONY Walkman NW-ZX507 and DSD Native
The question is: are 64 & 128 working as Native, or with conversion to PCM? Thanks! I use Poweramp on my smartphone (Samsung Note), it doesn't see ISO. Also, I read that any music app, downloaded to 507 from Play Store, downsamples to 16/48, so I don't think those apps output DSD Native...- Ursego

SONY Walkman NW-ZX507 and DSD Native
Hi all, I just bought SONY Walkman NW-ZX507 and have some questions regarding Native DSD. I didn't find the answers in the huge topic NEW SONY NW-ZX500. The Sony site says: "Supreme quality with 11.2MHz DSD native". Pay attention - "with", not "up to". So, is only DSD256 Native supported (but...- Ursego
