Review by 's to' on item 'Truthear HEXA 4 Driver Hybrid IEM'

I had a defective unit arrive first, with severe channel imbalance in the bass. After emailing Shenzhen Audio support, I had a replacement sent. I lost the replacement unit, and now have a 3rd Hexa, I bought. The build of the earpieces feels sturdy in the hand, nozzles are large and the body is...

Review by 's to' on item 'Sennheiser X Massdrop HD 6XX'

I bought these used. Then washed the pads. I did listen to them a but before washing the pads, and after drying the pads it sounded the same to me. Used pads may mean that I had much less treble than new pads would. Used just a q5k with a 3.5mm jack unbalanced to power these. Adequate volume...

Aminus hates everything (Or, Aminus rants and reviews stuff)

Can you extrapolate, from reading past comments. For example, the toleration of the Ucotech RE2.

Aminus hates everything (Or, Aminus rants and reviews stuff)

If possible, curious if your impressions of the as800 have withered after some time. I liked my unit fine, but it lacked some air and was congested slightly. Also, replying to above some ither reviewers also to some extent review with an imagined perfect iem in mind, that doesn't exist, to...

Review by 's to' on item 'Truthear Zero'

I bought this new from Shenzhen Audio. Had a nifty $5 coupon so I got the stand. This is my own personal opinion, and my conclusion is the Truthear Zero is at least worth the $50. I wouldn't recommend it when there's killer options at $20 and killer options at $80. However; it looks fly as...

    Precog's IEM Reviews & Impressions

EQ won't copy FR in all of it's tiny incomprehensible pits and grooves with current technology. Similarly graphs are a measurement of FR l, but aren't exactly FR. EQ just gets sometimes pretty close, and in most cases that's good enough.

Reply to review by 's to' on item 'Sony XBA-N3'

Tips definitely help a lot; the Spring tips and other wider bore tame it, and it really does affect it more than most IEM's due to the bass being so borderline. My stance is that tips are just a nice way to refine something already pleasant though.

Review by 's to' on item 'Sony XBA-N3'

I bought the XBA-N3BP, the version with a balanced cable that I never used. It was used. Packaging is a paper sleeve over a black 2 part box, opening to reveal the earpieces in a piece of black plastic covered in nylon(?). Under that is the cable wrapped up nicely, 3 pairs of foam silicon...

I am not sure if Crinacle dislikes a heavy bass shelf though... Hard to say what his reasoning is though without impressions.

    Precog's IEM Reviews & Impressions

I felt the N3 was unusually slow or thick feeling in the mids and bass, and in conjunction with its mid bass boost and telatively tame pinna, that pushed it's sound into congested territory. The treble is stellar. Still a good IEM, but definitely not easy to call an all rounder.

    Precog's IEM Reviews & Impressions

I didn't feel any pressure problems that would be more relevant to the Moondrop S8 or Etymotic er2se with the n3; but it is surprisingly isolating for a bullet. Sony themselves though market the n3 as having some sort of tube for airflow in that prominent acoustic chamber. edit: Also this is...

Tripowin Lea Fan Club - Impressions & Discussion

The Ola somehow has less bass than the er2se, has quiet vocals, larger soundstage, and less detail. It has a softer more diffuse presentation than the fine grain presentation of the er2se. Also more boring in my opinion, I prefer my er2se.

Tanchjim in ear monitors Impressions Thread

I got the Ola. My preferences are towards boosted sub bass starting 200hz, and emphasized 2800-3000hz with sensitivity to 6000-7000hz and 10,000hz. Possibly, I am perceiving less bass due to shallow stem and strange vent interactions with my ear. Ola is 4/10 enjoyment for me. It feels lacking...
