beyerdynamic replacement parts
After waiting for ages for things like OEM replacement headbands to reappear for sale on the beyerdynamic USA website, I finally emailed them to ask when they would get parts in. It turns out those parts _are_ available, on some completely unlisted authorized service center's website, called...- CubeApril

Shure SRH1540 Review
Having now tried both the DT-770 and HD280 pads, I think I actually slightly prefer the DT-770 pads. Plus they look a lot more aesthetically pleasing, add a bit of welcome tension to sliding the ear pieces in and out, and are a lot less annoying to put on. So if you're up for a little sewing...- CubeApril

Shure SRH1540 Review
Ended cutting and sewing an old DT770 headband. It’s not bad, but it’s stretched tight enough that it’s not as comfortable as I think it could be.- CubeApril

Shure SRH1540 Review
Considering picking up a 4' Audiophile Ninja cable to replace the standard cable that comes with the SRH1540. Should I even bother picking up the balanced cable for such a short cable from my FiiO K3, on such an easy-to-drive set of cans like the SRH1540s?- CubeApril

Shure SRH1540 Review
The pillow strips are such garbage, what a terrible design choice. I just ordered a replacement beyerdynamic DT-770 button-up headband to see if that'll work. Or at least a knock-off... the original replacement part seems impossible to get in the states. My plan is to cut off a quarter of it...- CubeApril

Shure SRH1540 Review
Love my SHR1540's, but I've gotten to a point where the left earpad will constantly fully extend when placed on a headphone stand. Is there any way to tighten up the movement in the yokes so that there is more tension? Will simply tightening the two screws in the plastic piece the yokes travel...- CubeApril

Most comfortable closed-back headphones under $1000?
I've got some somewhat unusual requirements and I'm hoping folks can point me in the right direction. For like... a decade or so now, I've used my DT-770s as my primary work headphones. And while they are supremely comfortable, they sound only... fine, and the absurdly long cable is a huge PITA...- CubeApril

New Beyerdynamic Pro X line: DT 700 Pro X and DT 900 Pro X
Huh, fascinating. I will say that I do actually like the extra _depth_, it's just that the DT770 had a wider opening that meant that the pad wasn't ever pushing on my ears. With the DT700s, my ear all fits inside the cup and so it's not resting on my ears, but inside the cup my ear is being...- CubeApril

New Beyerdynamic Pro X line: DT 700 Pro X and DT 900 Pro X
Finally got around to picking up a pair of DT 700 Pro X's. My personal work desk has a pair of DT 770s – one always playing music, the other for my system audio for meetings and what not – and the cable situation is torturous. They are so long and gangly and really only needed to reach a...- CubeApril

New Beyerdynamic Pro X line: DT 700 Pro X and DT 900 Pro X
Is that a custom cable? It looks amazing -- mind if I ask what the order (especially the pattern) was, because I'd love to pick up the same for mine.- CubeApril
