Cayin N7: A Voyager of Unexplored Frontier
that's interesting... since Andykong said sound quality shouldn't be affected but people seem to have other experiences... I definitely noticed sound difference in my Hiby r6pro2 when I updated firmware before...- kcsound777

Cayin N7: A Voyager of Unexplored Frontier
Mayne Andykong Hi Andy, Can you confirm as another user commented that the sound signature may have changed (or improved?) from this firmware update? Because I actually really like how it is at the moment and I am trying to decide if I should upgrade to latest firmware, I would love to have...- kcsound777

Cayin N7: A Voyager of Unexplored Frontier
Hi, does anyone know if it is safe to eject out the SD card (to put in new songs) and plug it back in without powering down the unit? Does it harm anything if I do that?- kcsound777

Hiby R6 Pro II (2023 Edition) - Launch, Hype, Thoughts & More
Hi Joe, Thanks for your reply, I tried your suggestion with the DRx10X plugin in different settings with gain set to negative and bass/mids/treble at different values that doesn't pass 0 (e.g. Gain = -1db , bass -0.7db, md -0.3db, treble -0.7db) it still produces the same kind of gain clipping...- kcsound777

Cayin N3Ultra: an Entry-level Portable DAP that Delivers a Complete Vacuum Tube Audio Experience
I have the tempotec V6, Hiby R6pro2 and Cayin N7, I AB this yesterday for half an hour at a shop with my R6pro2, and I remember the v6 signature pretty well, I would say the N3U sounded better than the v6, its slightly fuller and less compressed, tube mode with classic had more analog feel with...- kcsound777

Cayin N3Ultra: an Entry-level Portable DAP that Delivers a Complete Vacuum Tube Audio Experience
... wow... it's hard to believe you guys prefer this over the N7 (which I have and love) ... tried it at the shop the other day and whilst it's pretty good for its price, the biggest drawback for me with the N3u is not so much the player or sound quality but the interface where I can see it's...- kcsound777

Hiby R6 Pro II (2023 Edition) - Launch, Hype, Thoughts & More
Yes I know, but actually I tried to just have DRX10K on with all the bass/mids/treble at 0db but with overall gain increased to about 4.4db, the plugin whilst give a more distinct dynamic separations (like more contrast) it has a strange almost like phase mismatch somehow or maybe like a phase...- kcsound777

Hiby R6 Pro II (2023 Edition) - Launch, Hype, Thoughts & More
I found on a few occasions before that if I used any fast charger the r6p2 just got really hot to the point that I suspect from overheating it crashed and this happened a few times, I was on med gain with class A using 4.4mm. Since then I intentionally use an older 10W charger to protect the...- kcsound777

Hiby R6 Pro II (2023 Edition) - Launch, Hype, Thoughts & More
I think I found the reason, it's because of the plugin DRX10K , it produces a bit of gain clipping in certain settings... I turned it off and it's not as harsh...- kcsound777

Does anyone find your r6pro2 sound a bit harsh? I have the tempotec v6 and Cayin N7 and somehow I find the r6p2 sound a bit rough or harsh compare to even the v6 . . .- kcsound777

Cayin N3Ultra: an Entry-level Portable DAP that Delivers a Complete Vacuum Tube Audio Experience
I have the N7 too but the player in N7 is actually just a reskinned Hiby Music Player, which doesn't allow custom playlist, when I wrote to Hiby they admit it is silly that they can't do custom playlist also but that's just how it is for now, I believe the n3ultra uses another interface so...- kcsound777

Hiby R6 Pro II (2023 Edition) - Launch, Hype, Thoughts & More
I think that the M23 has some great ideas but strange executions, like they have two usb-c ports where one allow battery bypass to have desktop mode, but then they don't make their line-out as true dedicated line out but a shared one or digital like shanlings, which is what I would consider if I...- kcsound777

Hiby R6 Pro II (2023 Edition) - Launch, Hype, Thoughts & More
I think you should just experiment, how does it sound now and how do you want it to sound when you're with the schiit freya? I always felt that in LO medium gain in my system I wasn't getting enough fullness and dynamics and until I use high gain at 100% that's where I feel it's doing what it...- kcsound777

Cayin N7: A Voyager of Unexplored Frontier
@Andykong Any chance that N7 next firmware can have system wide PEQ like Hiby recently has done so for the R6Pro2 firmware update? I am sure many people would want to have system wide PEQ on their N7... Thanks- kcsound777

It's because you're using low gain and 3.5mm, plug even an iem to the 4.4mm and even medium gain then you will see how hot it gets to the point I prefer to use 3.5mm- kcsound777
