I have been told that the schiit lokius EQ can mess with (or be messed with by?) nearby transformers. Any of us have firsthand experience with how close is too close? also does direction matter or only distance/proximity?

these are 0s and 1s. they are right or wrong. if the packet does not pass checksum it is simply rejected. in this manner i suppose you could say that all tcp/ip "cleans" the stream. also there are no timing issues like there are in SPDIF, because the transport carries orders of magnitude...

nice! I pulled a 1200(g? x?) out of service and dropped that 5800x in, it literally HALVED my wait time on its most important task, best ~200 bucks i spent in recent memory the 5900x is still on a shelf :( have not yet decided to swap it with an in-service 2700x or build another system around...

i know X3D is the new hotness but i was getting 5800x and 5900x procs for what felt like stupid cheap a few months ago, something to consider. they are still fast :P

Yes that is on my (someday) list! I want 3.5mm jacks to match my Focal cables but think that most opt for 2.5mm or even other, smaller connectors

interesting, i am literally waffling between modius and bifrost for an additional DAC these days. to me the MMB2 was a fantastic improvement over the plain modi. but of course, ears and attached gear are a part of the equation too. never heard MMB1 for the record

yeah i generally lean silver but sometimes the sneaky tax is too rich for my blood. like on the urd :P

the buttons look great as highlights but the tray is too big for that obviously preferences and taste play a role here, but i do get a little snobby about design :)
