Cayin HA-3A, a Compact 6V6s Transformer-coupled Tube Amplifier
Thanks for the input! I think I'll scale up a bit and get the Cyan 2 based on your input (and some others previously). Looks like that has to be ordered from Kitsune direct - https://www.kitsunehifi.com/product/holo-audio-cyan-2-dac/.- HiFilife

Cayin HA-3A, a Compact 6V6s Transformer-coupled Tube Amplifier
All, About to pull the trigger on one of these and am looking to buy a DAC. I've seen some recommendations in the thread and most are out of my price range. I had planned to purchase a Bifrost 2/64 but some previous posts seem to indicate it really isn't suited for the HA-3A. Has anyone tried a...- HiFilife

ZMF Atrium - new open-back co-flagship
I was excited for these until I saw the shipping was more than the bags. Yikes! I think I'll stick with my oversized Zip-Locks. I do wish I could find some generic zip bags in that exact size though. Amazon seems to have everything BUT that size.- HiFilife

HiBy R6 III (Gen 3) Android digital audio player, Dual ES9038Q2M, Class A / AB amplification switch, Snapdragon 665, Open Android 12 OS, DSD512 / PCM768
I haven't had that particular issue, but I did have a faulty device the first go around. But I was within the return window and Joe Bloggs was helpful with that. I'd imagine if you DM him he'd point you in the right direction. He's been very helpful around here!- HiFilife

Topping G5
You've stumbled on my only complaint about this awesome device - No way to tell precisely how charged it is. It's either empty(red LED), "enough power"(green LED), or yellow as its charging.- HiFilife

HiBy R6 III (Gen 3) Android digital audio player, Dual ES9038Q2M, Class A / AB amplification switch, Snapdragon 665, Open Android 12 OS, DSD512 / PCM768
This is my concern as well. The Hiby doesn't appear to have a user serviceable battery and at the price, I expect to have a solution when this dies in 3 yrs or so. I should have checked this before my purchase. To be fair, most phones don't have this option either, but doesn't mean its right...- HiFilife

Nice catch! I turn on Dev options as soon as I turn on a new Android device so I'd forgotten I had taken this step when it came to Poweramp EQ setup.- HiFilife

Ah, I see. That would be handy but I don't think I've seen an L adapter for 4.4mm, but probably could find one for 3.5mm since its a more common size. I tend to use whatever's most convenient, at least when mobile.- HiFilife

I've put this in my pocket (without the case) and it seems to work just fine. Just don't sit down. The plug comes straight out of the bottom so I'm not sure what you'd want an L bend adapter for. I guess if you turn in on it's side in your pocket you might have issues.- HiFilife

I'm not sure. Reboot the device after installing if you haven't already. I've only had to tweak settings to get it to work with the Poweramp Player (ironic). Go into Settings, Equalizer, and check DVC settings to make sure it's enabled, maybe. I have it on and also have "Enable DVC for...- HiFilife

HiBy R6 III (Gen 3) Android digital audio player, Dual ES9038Q2M, Class A / AB amplification switch, Snapdragon 665, Open Android 12 OS, DSD512 / PCM768
So here's a weird one. I don't know if this is a Hiby, Qobuz, or Android issue. It only occurs in Qobuz but I don't have any other streaming service app installed. I've been using my Hiby several weeks now and recently at CamJam attempted to use the USB outputting to an amp to play Qobuz. (I've...- HiFilife

CanJam Chicago 2023 Impressions Thread (June 24-25, 2023)
I just got back from day 1 of Canjam and overall, had a good time. It did seem like a number of vendors didn't show up. Couldn't locate Linsoul or Meze and a few others. I have one Hyatt gripe - Why does a hotel with all that convention space have such horrible WiFi? Signal was so-so, but speed... -

Regarding Qobuz, I've been using it without issues since my purchase several weeks ago. I get the highest resolution Qobuz offers. Per the description, this doesn't have the limitations that Android phones have: "supports systemwide bit-perfect audio for true high-resolution audio across...- HiFilife

HiBy R6 III (Gen 3) Android digital audio player, Dual ES9038Q2M, Class A / AB amplification switch, Snapdragon 665, Open Android 12 OS, DSD512 / PCM768
Good news! Got the replacement, returned shipped the bad one, and tested the new one. This is MUCH better. Just ran a 2-hour test, Class A, mid gain, 4.4 connection to my Noire headphones. It used only 30% battery and unit just slightly warm. Thank you to Joe for helping via DMs to get this...- HiFilife

I received Joe's PM (Thank you!) and am returning mine and reordering from Amazon. Should arrive tonight and I'll test immediately. Hopefully, given the info above from @yeowyap, Amazon doesn't have a bad batch in the warehouse and I get a bad replacement. We'll see. I did do one final test last...- HiFilife

I wasn't using a case. This may be why more folks haven't had an issue with it. I'm wondering more about the battery when using Class A. Most reviewers state they're getting at least 6 hrs, and more if they use the 3.5 jack. Using the 4.4 balanced (medium gain), around 90 min is my max. I'll do...- HiFilife

That's excellent information. That should be on the R6 III product page. So I'll just stay away from Class A except for showing off. ;)- HiFilife

Well that helped! Thanks for the feedback. AB is much better on heat and battery drain. There's almost no warmth, and an hour of play only took the battery down about 10%. With the minimal testing I've done so far I can't really tell A from AB soundwise, but will continue to review some 'test'...- HiFilife

Ditto. Mine arrived from Amazon today with a 44% charge. Updated the firmware, then I put in a SD card with NIN FLAC files and set to Class A, Mid Gain and played on my Noire. Very warm after 5 minutes and after 20 min, can't even hang onto it more that a few seconds. Oh, and that charge 44%...- HiFilife
