You bought a pair of black SR325? They are hard to find.

    Sony MDR-7520

A lot of the higher end headphones are open ones.  The reason I even bought the 7520 was because they were closed and sealed properly. Their sound quality level is high too so they tick all the boxes for me. Sure, I have heard and own better headphones (My joe Grado phones; Stax...) but I use...

My question is- Do your SA3000 with ZX700 drivers sounds better than the stock SA3000?

    Sony MDR-7520

I also have ZX700, which is a poor man's 7520 with no bass. Tyll liked that very much. It really shows how subjective these opinions can be. I can go and on... Okay, just one more- Beat solo 2: My daughter has a pair. They have boomy, muddy mid bass and a congested; grainy top end. A mess to...

    Sony MDR-7520

If I didn't already have two pairs of these I would be interested. They are great headphones and haven't sounded very worse to me since the measurement came out.   I think we should respect what Tyll does but at the end of the day it is up to you to decide whether you like how they sound or not.

    Grado Fan Club!

They were just rough doodles, nothing to write home about. It started off when Joe's wife Brigitte was unwell. I sent her some drawings from time to time as get-well-soon cards. May they both rest in peace.

    Grado Fan Club!

There really is no point sending budget level Grado to GradoLab for repair even if you could. By the time you paid for shipping and packaging, you might as well buy a new pair. GradoLab has very good after sale service within US- fixed reasonable prices for different models. Overseas is a...

    Sony MDR-7520

Hi there,   I am looking for a short, straight cable for my 7520 (I am in UK).  Any suggestions ?   Thanks!

    Sony MDR-7520

I can feel the disappointment from some of the 7520 owners here ( myself included) but I do agree Tyll's comments about the upper bass. Don't agree the treble fell apart' or ' no sense of sub bass'. Then again I am not sure these comments form Tyll are entirely based on measurement or listening...

    Sony MDR-7520

I am looking forward to that Tyll. They are now my go to headphones. In terms of sound quality, comfort, seal (not to mention the price), they are hard to beat.   The 7520 are so good that I bought an extra pair soon after I got my first one. :-)

Having the best graded drivers but with switches in the signal path- these are the pos and cons of HP-1. You take your pick. :-)  I can never tell the difference.

My HP-1 came in with the switches disabled already also but I am not that alone would degrade the sound quality of the headphones. The original HP-1 should in theory sound better than HP-2 because they were allocated the best drivers, but who knows....

    Grado PS500s (new Grado's)

Haha, good one.   It is all personal taste. I sold my 650 cheaply after getting a pair vintage RS-1 too- and carried on listening to 'Bright side of the Moon'

Grado Lab is run by John Grado. Joe has nothing to do with it anymore. Pestering Grado Lab is not going to solve anything. Joe has shipped headphones overseas many times before and I don't understand why all of a sudden he is paranoid about it.  Hope this gets resolved quickly. No one should...
