Looking for Player Replacement
Great, thanks for letting me know. I'll do that, then! Well, the plugins was a major point today, now I'm more willing to keep my player, especially knowing that other players might not be as TalkBack accessible as this (although it doesn't come with it by default). Thanks again for helping out!!!- DavidLai

Unfortunately I can't swipe the other plugins away. I don't think it's possible with TalkBack. Still, thank you! :)- DavidLai

You did it, man!!! I slide the slider to 60% and, what I want was beautifully achieved!!! Thank you!!! Now one more question. I tried some other plugins just for fun, and I want to delete the plugins I don't want to use. Can I do that? Thanks again!- DavidLai

True. :) I hope to have a simple, useful and enjoyable setup. I had it with the Sony Walkman, so I guess I'm just comparing directly to it. I can't help but doing it...- DavidLai

That's a good idea, but will this be just a bit more things to carry? Also, with the limited battery, I feel still the best way is to get a player that works natively. If this is a home setup, I wouldn't mind too much. But we're talking about portable on the road / trip situation.- DavidLai

Looking for Player Replacement
Well, it's now back to square one! I liked using the HiBy Digital M300 mainly for its portability, accessibility with TalkBack, and general workflow. However, I've since found that its main weakness is in music playback and detail retrieval. I've tested back to back against my Sony Walkman...- DavidLai

Wonderful! Then in that case, I'll buy a 1.5TB card. I'll search for a well-known brand so I won't get major read and write errors. Thank you for testing!- DavidLai

OK, thank you! Yeah, streaming is not for me at this stage. Rips from my CDs are mainly what I have, in addition to some rare hi-res downloads. I'll ask the people there about cards. Thanks!- DavidLai

So what I'll do is, I copy my FLAC files from my external hard drive into the device / card. So there's bound to be give and take. But that said, I know if I buy a bigger card, the less likely I'd need to change out a bunch of files, and I also can manage my in-device library through major...- DavidLai

Looking for Player Replacement
Hi all. So I've been testing the player now and, despite the fact it has limited detailed sound stage compared with my Sony, I like the neutral sound the player has, and I think I can continue using it. Probably in the process of time, I can get used to it more? Meanwhile, I need help shopping...- DavidLai

Looking for Player Replacement
Hi everyone. I think since we've been having this conversation for a while on this thread, I'll just write my thoughts here. I finally was able to take the player out for a spin today. So far, my feelings about it is mixed: 1. The buttons on the side, as well as the whole Android experience...- DavidLai

Looking for Player Replacement
After asking someone to restore Talkback and customizing all accessibility settings, I disabled WiFi, plugged in my SD card and had a go at using the player. The over all operation was smooth. However, the double tapping speed when using TalkBack is slower than doing the same gesture on my mom's...- DavidLai

Well, I just got the player, and I accidentally turned off TalkBack by mistake!!! And because I have yet to set up the accessibility shortcut, now the player is silent... I'll need to wait till when I can have someone sighted to take a look at the device to decide what I need to do. But for now...- DavidLai

OK great, thank you! I'm just thankful that TalkBack can work with the M300. Also, I'm glad it runs Android 13, which is not the latest Android, but not far either. It'll be my first Android device, so learning curve ahead.- DavidLai

Oh... I'm sorry to ask, but do you think I've made a wrong decision? Of course, I won't be using this player like a phone, I'll just be listening to music, with the WiFi turned off, of course.- DavidLai

Yes, I'm also very happy how this is turning out. They helped me do extensive tests and demos on the phone. I even taught them some basic TalkBack navigation gestures. :) The likelyhood I'm keeping this is high since they've helped me demo everything.- DavidLai

I have a bit of an interesting update. MusicTech recommended me the Hiby Digital M300, and they have an open box deal for $140. Because it was open boxed, they installed TalkBack on the device, tried it and actually made the device talk!!! Not only that, the device will come to me talking when...- DavidLai

IMO, there are no silly questions! That said, whether or not I can get accessible features like TalkBack to work on these Sony players remains to be seen. Without text-to-speech features like TalkBack, touch screen devices are of no use to blind people like me.- DavidLai

OK, I've contacted the people at MusicTech. Turns out they speak my mother tongue, so we had a conversation in Chinese. Here's what I got from the call: Unfortunately, players like my beloved NWZ-A27 are few and far between now, and super long battery life is also a thing of the past. They...- DavidLai

Bach - St. Matthew's Passion in English?
Hi, new to the forum. I have the 2009 recording with Jeffrey Skidmore leading Ex Cathedra. As an English-speaking person (all be it my second language), it's good to have such a recording to have the text directly impact me as the listener. And, it's not the oldish English that Bernstein and his...
