My G5 just broke on me yesterday... so I immediately went out and bought an MX518 on clearance and a G500 on sale from Best Buy. That price match thing is hard to argue with (G500 was $44, MX518 was $25).- LordofDoom

Quote: I have heard the tracking isn't as good. It's laser instead of infrared. I don't know the functional difference here, but I have not heard the best things of the Lachesis, hence why it started as more expensive and wound up cheaper.- LordofDoom

Logitech G5 Gen.1 I've been using it for at least 5 years, it's worn the logo off and the grip has become smooth.- LordofDoom

Quote: I threw it on Ebay this week. I've sent you a PM. If you get it, I'll knock off shipping for a fellow Head-fi-er. EDIT: Nevermind, Ebay killed the auction for unknown reasons, so I just sold it on XDA. Ebay's ridiculousness never ceases to amaze me.- LordofDoom

recommend a dell for gaming to me (laptop)
Quote: That's not true. I'm sitting on a 540GT and I'm doing fine playing Black Ops, which in and of its self is probably not the best coded engine. Sure he won't be able to max most new games out, but I bet everything will play fine.- LordofDoom

You probably could but I doubt it'd be easy. It's not a critical issue (i.e. not worth it in my mind) if it's going to cost you >$100.- LordofDoom

No. The only time it's worth upgrading your i7 is if you're getting a 2-series over a 1-series or upgrading to more cores (i.e. you should prefer any processor with Q at the end, it indicates quad-core; you should prefer any processor i7-2XXX, not i7-XXX).- LordofDoom

Get an Alienware M14x. Sell the current 500GB internal hard drive and get an SSD and another 4GB RAM stick on Newegg. That should fit within $100 of your budget. If you have a deal with your school for Windows 7 it shouldn't matter whether it's Mac or PC. Your PC should come with a...- LordofDoom

I picked up a never used Brooks Brothers dark-dark grey with blue pinstripes 2-piece suit at a charity sale for $10. Tailoring cost about $50 from a nice lady who runs a laundromat down the street. A month ago I finally got some Brooks Brothers non-iron slim fit shirts. I'd recommend them to...- LordofDoom

Just got my Benchmade Barrage 581 in the mail. This thing is quite massive in size and weight, yet I highly approve. I'll try to get pictures in. I sold my Benchmade Mini-Griptillian Mel Pardue and Kershaw Ken Onion Leek to help fund it.- LordofDoom

Best plan I've found is Even More Plus on T-Mobile. Move to Google Voice for all texting and you can save $5-10 on that as well.- LordofDoom

Quote: More than a rumor, they should be in talks quite soon about a full-scale takeover. I see this deal going the way of HP-Palm although I don't know if Nokia would end up making a lot less dumbphones since that's not really Microsoft's direct interest.- LordofDoom
