Holo Audio Red Streamer
Fair enough - I prefer RopieeXL to Volumio which I think is default on the Mercury, but understand that’s a personal preference. I was hoping the Holo OS might work sufficiently for me without switching, but perhaps not in my system.- LogicalDisconnect

Holo Audio Red Streamer
Thanks for the suggestions. The updates wouldn’t work - kept saying ‘Update failed’. I’ve tried powering down, removing the power cable, Ethernet cable, SD card etc without success. I’ve also tried on two different networks. I haven’t tried any other OS but one reason I went for the Holo...- LogicalDisconnect

Holo Audio Red Streamer
Does anyone know if there is a way to do a factory reset or something similar on the Red? I’m really struggling with various issues including the OS page not loading (it will only load once every four or five hard reboots), Roon Bridge not working (only showing Airplay), updates always failing etc.- LogicalDisconnect

Holo Audio Red Streamer
I’d also be interested in any comparisons with the Pi2Design Mercury. I’ve got a Holo Red on order but I also have a LPS which I could use with Mercury V2 instead. The Red and Mercury V2 are about the same price here. I would be using with a Rockna Wavedream.- LogicalDisconnect

iFi audio NEO Stream - Sweet Streams!
@Clemmaster - did you ever resolve the inverted channels issue with the Wavedream? I would be using the NEO Stream with a Wavedream. Also curious as to whether you (or anyone else) have any impressions of the NEO Stream in comparison with the Mercury / Pi2AES? In Australia the price point of...- LogicalDisconnect

ZMF Caldera - New Planar Magnetic from ZMF!
Anyone been able to try the Caldera with a DNA Starlett? I assume it won’t be powerful enough to make them sound their best, but thought I’d check.- LogicalDisconnect

Selling my Sonnet Morpheus NOS DAC / preamp with I2S module. This is an excellent DAC - very detailed but also very natural. In my opinion a step up in quality from my previous DACs including the likes of the Chord Hugo 2 and Schiit Bifrost 2. I've been using it in a headphone setup with a...- LogicalDisconnect

ZMF Auteur Thread
Has anyone had the opportunity to compare the current limited edition Wenge with the Teak? I demo'd a pair of Teak which I really enjoyed, more than my Verite which I'm now selling, but now trying to decide between the Teak and Wenge. What I particularly enjoyed about the Teak was the midrange...- LogicalDisconnect

crinacle's IEM Ranking List
Managed to try the U12t and U18t today and think I actually preferred the 12. I’ve got an order in for the custom A12t - hoping my preference for the U12 doesn’t mean I would prefer the N8! Main reason for my preference was the U12 sounding a bit fuller especially with vocals. Not sure how the...- LogicalDisconnect

Thanks. Do both modules come with the A12T? My dealer has said I have to choose between the two and buy the other separately if I want it.- LogicalDisconnect

How do people feel about the M15 compared with the M20 modules on the A12T? I’m leaning toward the M15 for a more neutral response. My main concern is vocal performance and I’m not a huge bass-head. I’m also planning to use quite a lot on plane trips - does the M15 offer enough isolation for that?- LogicalDisconnect

crinacle's IEM Ranking List
Thanks crinacle. At the moment I'm leaning towards the A12T. The Z1R is a bit of an unknown, I much prefer the fit of customs and apparently the Z1R has been delayed here to Q1 2019. The N8 is intriguing but I think I'd probably prefer the higher resolution of the A12T. As far as other IEMs go I...- LogicalDisconnect

crinacle's IEM Ranking List
Any thoughts about the A/U12T compared with the IER-Z1R and possibly the N8T? Tossing up between the three at the moment - they're all within about $500 AUD of each other. I'd prefer a custom but the positive impressions of the Z1R make it tempting. I mostly listen to vocal-heavy music (folk...- LogicalDisconnect

Impedance Adapters/Cables | Explained & Listed
Apparently they sound significantly darker / bassier with lower output impedance sources though? I prefer a brighter signature (my desktop headphones have been HD800 and HD800S) so I'm not sure that's for me but the Andromeda seems to tick every other box. The amp / DAC I'm looking at is the... -
Chord Mojo(1) DAC-amp ☆★►FAQ in 3rd post!◄★☆
Has anyone compared the headphone amp in the Mojo with a dedicated portable amp like the Pico Power, Meier Quickstep or something similar or a desktop amp that's suitable for sensitive IEMs? Just wondering if it is worth getting a separate amp for home use. I'm a bit concerned with hiss from the...- LogicalDisconnect

Impedance Adapters/Cables | Explained & Listed
I'm looking at some IEMs (Campfire Andromeda) that are very sensitive and apparently sound best with a source having around 3 to 4 ohms of output impedance. If I have an amp with near zero output impedance, is there an easy way to increase the 'effective' output impedance by just a few ohms? -

New Schiit! Ragnarok and Yggdrasil
Can anyone suggest a decent, cheap rack that will sit beside my desk and fit the Ragnarok and Yggdrasil with the PYST cables? The cables are quite short so there needs to be a shelf quite close to the top for it to work. Not sure if anything in Ikea's current range is suitable - it's a bit of a...- LogicalDisconnect

Dangerous Music Source DAC
Thanks Mike. Seems like a difficult choice. Yggy and Convert-2 are a similar price here in Australia too. A bit concerned about the driver issues though - I also use Windows mostly and returns policies are usually much worse here. Yggy might be the safer bet, particularly with the longer warranty.- LogicalDisconnect

Dangerous Music Source DAC
Thanks for the impressions Rich. I've got my Source up for sale - it's done well for me but upgradeitis has struck! Yggy is the likely candidate but I'd be really interested to hear any impressions of the Dangerous Convert-2. I do like Dangerous products and they have excellent service.- LogicalDisconnect
