Darn, was considering selling my H9i in favour of this, hoping it would get me a more relaxed/neutral sound signature, but seems from this and the frequency graph that, while it might have less hot treble, the bass is actually less tight.

Were you able to listen to the PX7 in a passive mode with a cable?
Since it didn't work immediately I didn't waste any time troubleshooting and just left it alone.
I couldn't get it to work when I tried to audition it at a shop, and I don't know if it was the headphone, the generic cables on the shop floor being used to audition all the headphones or something else.

@wolfjeanne the bass is actually what I'd call "tight" (which means detailed and well-defined). But yes, it's very much bass quantity-wise.

@GREQ No passive operation on this one! Headphone has to be switched on!

Thanks for the reply!
That gets a "big oof" from me.

have you listened to the NAD HP70? From your description of SQ on the PX7, it sounds like they may have a very similar tuning. Though the HP70 doesn't have a huge soundstage, it isn't bad, and instrument separation is pretty good with these as well. Also does sound like ANC on the PX7 is better. IMO, it isn't anything to write home about on the hp70.
