I also felt the mids were slightly different the first time I listened to the GT, but I'm sure with a longer burn in with the capacitors, the sound should stabilize, I sort of like this tuning anyways, the mids aren't too present which doesn't drown out the other frequencies. It could also be the pad choice that I used with my ZMF VC at the time too.

"The only remark from my side is a high sensitivity of the knob. Sometimes I skip the function I need in the menu since the knob rotates very fast. I think you just need to get used to it, but it would be nice if you can adjust the speed somehow."

No. It's not that it's highly sensitive, it's that it's just plain inaccurate due to Burson not bothering to implement it properly.
The tactile feedback from the knob doesn't correspond to adjustments. Also the software just "guesses" whether you're turning the knob left or right and will often be wrong. It's actually less accurate when you turn the knob slowly. There are plenty of products that have similar hardware that don't have these problems. It's just lazy design. The issue exists in all their current products. I was hoping they would have fixed it with this new product.

Thanks for the write-up. Do you know if the "Super Charger 5A" power supply is an upgrade that can be added later?

Yes, the super charger is optional. You can add it later.

Can the balance control be used whilst listening to headphones.

Evidently the balance control only works through the pre amp outputs. Can I connect headphones directly to these pre amp outputs using adapters to take advantage of the balance control.

My only gripe with Burson was burn in on the oled, and the feel of the volume adjustment. unfortunately for me after as well the volume adjustment stopped working properly and by extension navigating the ui became a nightmare.

The volume adjustment on the unit I had would only really go up and go up still when turning the opposite way which carried over in menu navigation. But maybe this was just mine. I tried to reach out to Burson and didn’t really ever hear back perhap it was bc I bought it used ?

Outside of those 2 things you really could get one of their amps and stop they’re wonderful for the price build and sound quality. My experience just happened to be bad.

I use to have a Burson Conductor ref 3 but I found it to have a signature to it that I associated to the electronic switching power supply. I found that my older Burson Ha-160 sounded better and had a more analog like sound. I traded the conductor ref 3 in on a Sonnett Morpheus dac/preamp/headphone amp. I use it as a dac only on my desk top set up feeding my Schiit Jottenheim 2 headphone amp. Of course it is considerably more expensive than the Burson ref 3. But sonically it is another league above the Burson dac. No contest.
