@BartSimpson1976 : second card will make N3 bigger/thicker and maybe pricier, I prefer its small footprint as is And, not too many headphones support aptx hd yet.
Slightly thicker would still be ok. Amazing the N3 has features which the bigger brother i5 does not have yet. And with AptX HD it would be future proof.
Excellent review. I'm seriously looking for an entry price, good sounding stable DAP which will hold me for a few years. Looking at all the alternatives this Cayin seems to stand out as meeting all the requirements that I would have. Want to see prices settle a bit (bit over in my country) and a nice leather case will be sweet. But it looks like it can't be beaten on sound for the price. And that's what counts.
What is the "unique BT functionality"? My Shanling M1 offers they same, like your examples you have shown with BT controls of the smartphone apps, streaming etc.
@h1f1add1cted : Sorry, don't have any experience with M1, but if it has the same duplex wireless functionality as N3, then it's great. "unique" because all my other daps with BT can only pair up with headphones, not the other sources.
