Nice review! Very nicely laid out and easy to follow. Thank you!!!
I do have 1 question, for high load or low load, is it just auto detect from headphone impedance? Or is there any way to override it?
Thanks!
EDIT: It looks like there are buttons on the side that controls high load / low load. Oh and you mentioned about RU-6, how's the dynamic on both CDA M1 and RU-6? I've read some complaint that RU-6 might be a bit soft in presentation. But I like a little bit aggressive sound which is good for rock. Thanks!
@Hyde00 Press volume up and down at the same time to switch between High and low-load
RU-6 is vocal specialist, it's not recommended if you're looking for some aggresiveness, it might be too boring and too soft for rock especially in NOS Mode, OS Mode fixed it a bit, but it still relaxing style which suit vocal genre
anyway thanks everyone for reading and hope it helps~
RU-6 is brilliant. 1/ great timber and naturality of replay in NOS; gets more detailing and extended in treble in OS; 2/ very powerful from 4.4 - able to run the T60rp; 3/ pairs very well with Burson Soloist 3X for more power; 4/ big sound stage and very impressive layering and separation.
lol thanks for the reply guys! I'm currently using Burson Playmate 2 but I have a thing for dongles (used Dragonfly Red on my PC for several years) so if it can get "close enough" I'd rather go with dongle's form factor (headphone is Denon D5200, not particularly demanding).
I've spent too much money this month but I'll put RU-6 and CDA M1 to the list when I get more expendable money to try things LOL. Thanks!
Oh forgot to ask, is the volume control source based or hardware based? As in do you just control source volume? Or do you set source to 100% then control through hardware?
Personally I prefer source based (I use windows) since I use keyboard shortcut to switch volume. But it's not a deal breaker either way.
@Chessnaudio haven't tried KA3 so couldn't comment about it
@Hyde00 ah i forgot to mention about the volume, it will become source based, you won't get separate volume like some dongle
And i do suggest to install windows driver from colorfly.net to get smoother volume step
