No a generic usb cable does not sound 5% worse than bs "audio grade" usb cable. There is no difference. even if audio is synchronous digitaal data there is still some error checking because if the error is in the highest bit the one that is responsible in 50% volume level it would make a huge glitch in sound and no one ever heard such thing.

@amanieux I am wondering have you tried this OTG to have such claim? It's audio, just because you're unable to hear the difference, doesn't mean there no difference in actuality. Some people can, some people can't, we hear differently. If that is your limit, there is no point arguing.

i have a master in computer science and i know usb protocols. the problem with juging with our ears is that we are subject to placebo effect that is very real, we can swear something sounds better just because of the influence of how thing looka or what we read about it before hearing it. from a technical point usb cables influence on digital data transmission makes no sense. if you do a blind test over multiple times you will hit the 50% score that is random. about the influence of analog cables between the dac output and the iem it might be possible but that another subject

@Uros63 Thanks for reading, I ve heard the NEO 5, I personally think its better to run it with a technical DAC/AMP. Hence, the SPACE is better. However, the M1P is not a bad pick if you want to listen in a more laid-back manner.

@DestinoAzell I have never looked at the Space, currently i am looking at M1P, M2, KA17, BTR15, Aful, TP50.
I passed on some of these casue i thought that bright and technical/analytical one are a not a good match for it but now that you say they are good ... What would you pick of these for the Neo 5 ? Ill check out some reviews on the Space in the meantime.

I'm sorry @Uros63, I havent try those M2, KA17, BTR15, Aful, TP50. so I can't really say much without a thorough assessment.
I personally tried the NEO 5 with SPACE, during meet up. It runs pretty well. It didn't come across as being overly bright. Or you should consider the DC04PRO. Try to have a look on my friends youtube review AndyAudioVault on DC04PRO. I think that has a good balance between tone and technicalities.
