Thanks for the great review. Would you recommend getting these as a LCD-3 or HD-800 portable solution?

Don't have the LCD-3 but off the HD-800, sublime. In my mind, I was expecting it to be a little too bright for my taste but trying it right now my expectations were confounded. Mind you though this isn't a standard HD-800. It's @Currawong's that has a modification to it - unfortunately I don't have the details of the mod.

Sublime! Cool. This sounds promising... though I'm guessing the noisefloor would be quite apparent with the HD-800?
 
I have an original duet and I'm scared of it sounding digital and thin with LCD3 or HD800... The portable tube option just feels like it would be 'right'. Thanks for the info =)

Oops you're talking about the Cypherlabs duet. Sorry I was in the Apogee mindset...!

Do you know how it compairs to the ALO Contintental V3?
