I'm sorry but I hate seeing posts regarding durability, that is the complete opposite of what everyone says... its simple as you don't treat it well. There are a lot of instances of this that I could show you but too many too list. Personally I unlike many had an issue with the M50 cabling, but I realized that it was in fact the way I was treating the headphones (and it was my fault).

WakiDabeast: You must be kidding, even with coddling these wouldn't stand a year. AH-D1100 seeming flimsy to me on the first look back when I was considering them. (in the end, that's when I moved to IEMs)
The build quality is easily trumped by very cheap (modern) Sennheiser HD380, heck, even old 100% plastic Beyerdynamic DT230. The plastic has the cheap PET feel to it and the jack is worse than a typical aftermarket cheap jack - like it will disintegrate into components at any provocation. Only the cabling seemed good.

have you even tried them? There are a lot of people with experience with these cans that say the build quality is great and they withstand the test of time.
