Excellent write up...tempted. "Golden monkey ears" alone was worth the price of admission!

Great review.
You had both Ze8000 and this one, how would you compare them? DPP has a better sound stage, ANC, touch control, and of course app while Ze8000 might have better SQ?

That's a good question as the DPP and the ZE8000 are both unique sounds that you won't find anywhere else (and unique looks). A lot of people were really impressed with the ZE8000 soundstage. To me it was too intimate and congested. I found it (ZE) delightful for vocals and slower music. Once I tried to put some fast music like Psytrance or Metal though it felt like it couldn't keep up and was congested.

Also it didn't go loud enough for me (running off an android)

The PerL is more speaker-like and therefore plays some genres just perfectly. Any electronic, metal, rock, live music, hip hop.

Overall I think DPP sq is still better as well as everything else it does.

I am using the Hiby app. for some reason, i tap the right side and the music not able to pause. Do you know what configuration i need to change or hiby app is not compatible? Also do you felt that it is a bit bassy?

Thanks for this very usefull review! Have you also heard the Devialet Gemini? They both seem to go in the same directions.

At @yeowyap can't help on the HiBy app sorry. Haven't used it. Would have thought controls are in the bud not influenced by an app.

Also I do find them bassy absolutely (tune immersion down if needed) I wouldn't recommend these to someone who didn't want bass. But it doesn't touch the other freqs and it's a live speaker like bass which is pretty fantastic.

@brodyphone almost everyone is having a better fit experience with the Devialet and from what I've read there are a lot of similarities in sound presentation with some people preferring the Gemini II.

Haven't heard it but I'd recommend buying either from a place with a decent return policy if that's an option.
