Wow. This is a gold standard of reviews, you’ve set the bar even higher. What a masterpiece to read that goes well with a latte . The QA with Vang is an excellent touch.
Excellent review as always - articulate, engaging, and containing everything a reader needs to consider for a potential purchase or out of enthusiastic interest. You have me sold anyway given our shared love for IE900!
Brilliant review. Not something one can gloss over, but once I’m ready to ruminate, the impressions resonated so much with me. Kudos and with such quality writing, I always tell others that I’ve nothing valuable to add and they should instead just read well-written reviews on Head-Fi
Thank you all for the comments and support. Keep them coming, and feel free to PM me if you have any questions too. @KickAssChewGum that's the @doctorjuggles Cardas cable made from Cardas Clear wire (same wire as PW Audio 1950s only 2-wire not 4-wire and paracorded for comfort). It's also been ConXed by @EffectAudio, so I can use it with the IE 900 when the mood strikes.
Yeah I guess it depends what the LX is to you in terms of your collection. For me it was the ultimate bass performer with technicalities to match, and EVO not only puts daylight between the two in bass performance but even more so in technical ability. Yes, the tuning is different, especially around mids and treble, but if you have a collection with other IEMs that are stronger in what LX does 'differently' to EVO, then LX doesn't really have much to offer once you have EVO. At least that's how I see it.
Seriously, magnificent work of the highest caliber, showing great respect to the gear and the hobby itself.
You have outdone yourself with this tome. Keep 'em coming.
I wonder if you can listen to hard rock and heavy Metal with these iems without eq. Can they get fatiguing / sibilant / harsh at times when listening to these genres? Or are they easy on the ears?
