I'd just like to add, that indeed this headphone is bright and peaky on solid state amps, I would not recommend it to anyone on that setup, but.... if you use it with something like Feliks Audio Elise w/ upgraded tubes, which I've heard is amp they also pair it with on shows, well then you get very very different headphone. Headphone that is just incredible, and it's very hard to find some major flaws.
Compared to HD650, it's superior in kinda all aspects in my opinion (being huge, huge fan of HD650, own them for over 10 years and would never sell them). Even HD650 paired with max upgraded WA2 just can't deal with Clears on upgraded Elise, soundstage is better, bass is in different world completely, so is the treble and mids... mids are at least as excellent as on HD650 if not little better. (pretty hard to beat HD650 on mids...)
