Fantastic write-up, as always. You definitely know how to sell people on certain headphones. Looks like the 560 is what headphones should attempt to sound like.

Question: Which pads did you use for the review? Stock Focus pads, Focus A pads? I assume the former, but it would help people know which.

Great review ljokerl! I just got a pair myself last week and they are getting a lot of head time along with my LCD-3F's. I think you hit the nail on the head with this review, particularly about them being great all-rounders. They almost are like a pairing of the best aspects of the LCD-2's and the HD-800's for me. Great bass and midrange of the the LCD-2's, good seperation and treble energy of the HD-800's though not leaning too much towards one style or the other, seem to work great with all types of music too.

Nice to see you doing full-size can reviews too, kind of thought you were the resident IEM expert or something

Most all the review units come with focus-a pads but it would be helpful to get clarification. Nice review BTW.

hey from the specs, it says both he560 and the pm1 weighs 395g. is the pm1 rly heavier? lol

It's the bellini-style headband that distributes the weight excellently and helps the HE-560 feel lighter.

Hmm.. not getting comment notifications from the review section here. Weird.

The pads I am using have a mesh backing, which I guess makes them "Focus-A".

The OPPO feels heavier on the head than the HE-560. BucketInABucket is right - it has to do as much with the weight distribution as it does with the actual weight - I guess I just like floating-style headbands better.
