Awesome read and even better review  did you get any hands on time with the iDSD pro? 

The Amp Design is also exquisite, as it should be for the price tag. But I am really digging the design  Also FWIW, having been on the Edition X tour, its the best headphone I have heard, really should check it out.

@RedJohn456  Hahah, take a look at the part: "Equipment used" in this review The Edition X was also a review loaner and I agree - it's an amazing headphone. I would probably choose it over the HD800S. I was very sad when it went back. However - it's great to see how much more I can extract from my 560 and LCD-2, it was impressive. 

Hey @Koolpep. Since you have used the HD 800 S on both the Pro iCAN and micro iDSD, do you think you can describe the differences you heard between them? (Particularly with the single-ended solid-state configuration on the former.) I am also curious about any differences you heard between the balanced and single-ended outputs on the Pro iCAN.

Hey @Music Alchemist - I must admit I didn't actually compare much single ended to balanced. I also didn't really compare the amp much with other amps - also ways wanted to compare it to my Liquid Carbon but the iCAN had so much versatility and options to try -doing these comparison from memory would be quite improper, if I have the chance (maybe next week) to get my hands on the Pro iCAN again I will compare it.

It took ifi audio some time to join the big price amps party, good luck for them

What the heck is that port that looks like an HDMI input? ESL-Link, what's that?

From another review: And there’s a lot to enjoy as there is also ESL-link connector for plugging in a special energizer module. So it will be a second (after the German Audiovalve Luminare) headphone amplifier that will be suitable for any headphones: planar, electrostatic, AMT, dynamic.

@Allanmarcus @frogmeat69 I looked up the review that was taken from, but it did not explain what the ESL-link connector does aside from a vague reference to an energizer module. Normally, electrostatic headphones are driven by either an electrostatic headphone amp or an electrostatic converter powered by a speaker amp. My guess is that the ESL-link connector lets you connect an electrostatic converter (perhaps a proprietary one?) to this amp in order to drive 'stats with it, instead of using a speaker amp. But I'm not sure how this works exactly. I have owned electrostatic and electret systems and never even heard of an ESL-link connector until now.

when & where can i purchase this amplifier? i am VERY INTERESTED IN A PURCHASE. was about to get the woo-audio wa22(tube) or the oppo HA-1(SS) and i already have the cavali audio liquid carbon on order(august) but now this is more of my cup of tea amplifier. saw it on musicdirect.com and it was listed for in stock on jun 7th but now says available in 4 to 6 weeks. i would like to purchase now and receive now. please let me know if it is available any place for order now and receive now(not 4-6 weeks). thanks in advance for help if any....
