If you don't find the ZS6 harsh sounding, this one will sound quite smooth comparatively! Only thing ZS6 exceed is the soundstage, but it feel way less balanced and versatile than the GT600S. ZS6 do music its way while GT600S let do music his way....other very important aspect is the built and design, and it should be an aspect that worth money for you, if not, perhaps other options is possible, but this IEM are TANK and very small, so you can sleep with them wich its impossible with the ZS5-6.

Hello, can these be driven well by a smartphone or do they need a DAP? Also, are there better alternatives for classical music at this price?

@Krysztof Yes, they can be drive properly with smartphone. For classical, I think they are very good because of there speedy transient response and clarity, they excell with instrumental like jazz too. Less so for big beat music that need thick bass. Other IEM in this price range I have are inferior (kinera H3)...so can't really say for alternative choice! PMV A01 MK2 are excellent for classical too.
