Nice review, and indeed a fun read. I agree about the styling, it is very nice. Reminds me of the Movado Museum watch design that won design awards and massive sales. I can see chicks digging them. So is the bass one note and thick, or does it have some quality as well as quantity?
It's rolling, literally like rolls. This quality is what makes them a strange duck. The bass is much much more than a thud. In fact listening to a trance radio show was amazing, because even MP3 streams have texture detail and aspect in the soundstage. There is some slight fog though, call it a haze if you will, I mean, you can't get all this for free?
Interestingly I should have talked more about the smoothness. There is so much natural smoothness you will hear the grain in your music file, if it's there.
Lots of notes, not as many as a well amped Fostex/Denon AHD7000, and sloppy bass but way more quantity and way more easy to drive ( which is saying a lot). Not only are there many notes, they are all over the headstage but they somehow move around, and roll along. I guess "Fun" is the word. The bass is not as pinpoint as some bass headphones but it's musical in the end.
