Introduction
PMV is a Chinese company specialised in making iems and earbuds. I am interested in their offerings and decided to buy the PMV B01 AOEDE over at Penon Audio for 35 USD.

Accessories
The PMV B01 AOEDE comes in a black package. It comes with a service warranty card, a mini storage case and the foam cushions. The packaging is quite well done in my opinion.
Build
The PMV B01 AOEDE is made of metal and it is non-detachable. I would say the build is very solid. It reminds me of AUGLAMOUR RX-1. The material of the cable is similar to Dunu stock cable but not as soft. In addition, it has a mini y splitter. Moving on to the jack, you get a right-angled jack with strain relief. The jack has the PMV logo on it.
Sound Analysis
I used different sources to test the PMV B01 AOEDE and it is quite easy to drive. I will provide a description later on this review on the different pairings.
I would say the PMV B01 AOEDE is a smooth and slightly warm earbud.
Lows
The bass does not hit hard at all and there is control on it. The texture is quite spot on. Just like the Rose Masya, the bass is smooth but of course, it is not as smooth. This smoothness is good for long listening sessions as it is not fatiguing at all. I quite enjoy the bass of it. Most importantly, it does not bleed into the midrange. There is a seamless transition from the lows to the mids. All in all, with such bass reproduction at this price point, this earbud seems really value for money.
Mids
The mids is slightly warm. Vocals are neither distant nor intimate. It is just nice. It is not the most engaging mids you can find but at this price point, I am really amazed by it. With a tinge of warmth, the mids present a delightful sound that will appeal to vocal lovers. Overall, the buttery smooth and warm mids is the highlight of the PMV B01 AOEDE.
Highs
The highs are extended quite decently to be fair here. There isn’t any sibilance at all. I would say the highs are very well controlled just like the lows. With that, the overall sound reproduced is just very conservative which is good in a way as you can have a non-fatiguing session of listening.
Soundstage
The PMV B01 AOEDE is decent just like an ordinary earbud with a good amount of width and depth, providing a good balance. I cannot fault it at all because of its price point.
DAP Pairings
Questyle QP1R
With the QP1R, the bass becomes more tight and authoritative, giving it a more engaging listen. I would say this is a very nice pairing as it makes the sound more energetic. The stage has more width and depth as a result.
Ibasso DX200
With the DX200, it has better highs. A very balanced sound with an edge in the upper mids. Articulate treble performance. Layering and separation is slightly better with more air on the top
Cayin N6
With the N6, the performance is similar to the DX200 but lacks in the treble refinement. Bass becomes more tight and punchy. Mids took a step back and it is less warm.
Comparisons
VE Asura
The VE Asura has a warm and smooth sound. I feel the PMV B01 AOEDE has a better layering and separation. The mids of Asura is more forward in comparison. However, the Asura loses out in the bass department as it is not that smooth. At the price point, PMV B01 AOEDE offers tremendous price to performance ratio.
MusicMaker TP16
The TP16 has a neutral sound with a slight tinge of warmth. I feel both are priced relevantly Of course, the PMV B01 AOEDE has a more refined sound with better imaging. Stage is around the same with TP16 having more depth.
Conclusion
The PMV B01 AOEDE is really a fantastic earbud that I cannot find any fault with because of its price point. The build is excellent with a smooth and warm sound. Definitely one to try out for earbud connoisseurs!
