Thanks Brooko. Agreed on the 4+ star reviews.
I actually eq'ed the bass down a bit but I still didn't want to lose the rumble. As far as isolation goes all my IEMs are vented and still all of them isolate better. Even Comply foams didn't help much.
The DN1000 are actually my daily driver and my favorite to date. I have to return them to Dunu for replacement due to the stiffening cable though. Aren't the A83s more balanced vs. the bassy Dunus? My ideal IEM would have the sound of the DN1000 (maybe a little more subbass) but with the form factor of the T10/Shure/Fidue a83 so if the A83's signature is similar to the DN1000 they sound as a new potential favorite. I'm not a huge fan of the DN1000's and the Altone200's form factor.

As far as isolation goes I think it depends on your reference. They are nowhere near Shure's or Etymotic's levels, but aren't bad for a dynamic driver (vented) IEM. I think a lot will depend on the tips you're using too.
Anyway - great review. If you want to try some great sounding IEMs with very good bass, see if you can try a triple hybrid at some stage - Fidue A83, Dunu DN1000 or DN2000, or the T-Peos Altone200. Any one of those might be more up your ally
