Nice review mate, How is the user interface smoothness? Have you by any chance got any experience with iBasso DX160? If yes is the M3X smoother here?

Fluidity is good. I am unable to tell you if it is better or worse than iBasso dx160 because I have never tried it. I have iBasso220max, but I don't think it's fair to make a parallel between two daps with such a huge price difference.

Thats a good point, that its not fair or realistice to compare the two at 2 completely different price-points, but could you comment on how far apart the SQ is? I mean, is the $1000 difference reflected in what you hear or do you hear a $200 to $300 difference? That's difficult to do and completely subjective, I know. I've been fairly active in the M3X thread and I'm thoroughly impressed with the M3X - Its a good leap forward from the M5S and absolutely kills what was flagship a few years ago. I just bought the Lotoo Paw 6000 and will be able to compare them next week. but I'm already thinking I may be selling it because this little M3X drives my IEMs so well...... while it was burning in, I used in High Gain, but now its plenty driving my IMR RAH & EDP (both planars) and IMR RED (DD + Piezo) even in low gain. In high gain / balanced the battery goes 14 hours and I'm not sure yet how much further is does in lowgain / balanced, but it will be substantially more. That's impressive.

Yes I agree. For its price M3X is a really nice dap that can compete with more expensive daps.
As an amplification M3X is inferior to A&K KANN and iBasso220max, in my possession, this one is. But the Kann costs € 1000 and the iBasso € 1600 and therefore it is obvious that I do not find it fair to make a comparison. But I must say that despite having the KANN and ibasso220max, I enjoyed and intrigued to listen to M3X that I repeat to myself: I find it really amazing. Especially at the musical level, where it does not pay as much difference with Kann and ibasso220max as it pays in terms of amplification. But I would add that even with slightly more demanding ems the M3X amplification works with sufficient current supply.

I don't know Hiby5 I'm sorry ..... Android is important, it becomes a very very subjective speech. For me no more than tamto. (but it is my personal opinion). For me the primary and essential factor is the reproduction of music files, done with the best quality and the least loss of information possible. Android, Tidal, Spotify etc .... are important in relation to the use you want to make of them. The reactivity, the speed, the fluidity. But in my opinion they always come after the fidelity of the resolution. I own ibasso220max and Dethonray prelude. Two totally different daps, and I must say that on Dethonray I absolutely do not feel the lack of multimedia that instead offers ibasso220max. But I repeat that it is an absolutely subjective judgment.

I have DTR1, if I buy m3x I will hear severe sound degradation ?
fabio19
M3X has more body, more heat. A rounder, slightly more analog sound than Dethonray is analytic. M3X is less fast and clear than Dethonray Prelude.

But m3x better than LG sabre smartphones?

i have never listened to smathpone lg

Very comprehensive and informative review...
I have DX160 (which hardly lives up to 8 hours long playback using balanced mode) & HIBY R5 between others.. But I ll go for the M3X just for the full bodied sound and the musicality those two characteristics intrigued me most..........
