Does anyone else here have a 4K (or greater) display for their PC? I have a 50" Seiki 4K. Nothing like having loads of desktop space available. The Seikis have MVA panels which aren't quite as good as IPS, but are a huge step above TN.

Some say there's no point for 4K, but in my experience, the difference between 1080p and 4K is very obvious. Certainly not like the subtle difference between 16/48 and 24/192. A 50" 1080p display is good for gaming, but try to use it for desktop work and the pixellation makes it nearly useless.

I hate using a TV for a computer monitor because of its lag and too big pixels.
Try a real 4k IPS computer monitor and you'll see a huge difference

I'm a movie editor + I game from time to time and I was deciding between 1 good 4k 32" monitor and 2x 27" 1440p.
I bought 2x Dell U2715H and I couldn't be more happier :)

The Seikis are designed to be basic as in minimal internal processing, which works in our favor by reducing lag. Gaming on it is just fine as long as you have a GPU that can handle the load. Or switch it into 1080p120 mode for games.

Something similarly ironic happens with AV receivers, often making the cheaper ones better for gaming use.

Any GPU that is 650 series or newer supports 4K. Only the top few of those will actually be fast enough for 4K gaming, of course. But for HTPC type uses, a cheap 750 will do for upscaling.

As for native 4K content, it's going to get much more common now that the new iPhones can record in 4K.
