Hello;
My mom is 92 years old and has dementia, and likes to listen to music.
I had an old CD player and headphones set up at her bedside (she is not bedridden - but she enjoyed listening while going to sleep), but that CD player stopped working.
Rather than buy another CD player, or an MP3 player, I thought perhaps I could set up a music streaming server which would stream music to anyone who wanted to hear it over Bluetooth. This could allow my mom to listen to music in her bedroom, as well as anywhere else in the house she happened to be. I could either stream the music from my Windows PC using a repeater for extended coverage, or purchase a dedicated server for the task. I also have a Ubuntu Linux box that I could use, but it doesn't have Bluetooth, so I would need a dongle.

What is most important, and why I am posting in this forum, is that the headphones I purchase for my mom would need to be very simple to use, and also reliable.
I have a couple pairs of BT headphones, but neither of them would be suitable for my mom, due to pesky on-off switches, occasional failure to pair, etc.
I don't want to spend a lot of money on the headphones, as my mom tends to get angry when things don't work, and would probably toss the headphones if they stopped working. While I understand that expecting a product to be both reliable and low cost is a bit of a stretch, but perhaps something does exist, or I could find a suitable used pair.
As a compromise, I could just purchase a Bluetooth receiver with an amp for her bedroom, and stream the music from my Windows PC. The distance between my room and my mom's room is less than 30ft, so BT will work. I have several pair of wired headphones I could give her to use with the BT receiver/amp.

Any suggestions?
Thanks

Hey, why not do something as simple as an Echo?

Thanks! I never thought of Echo.
I'm going to check it out on Amazon.
I would be especially interested if wired headphones could be plugged into an Echo device. That way, my mom wouldn't need to deal with BT connectivity.
It's the simplest solution I could think of. But I meant to just use it as a speaker vs. hooking up headphones.

The Echo will support BT headphones but I don't know what the experience is like.
