Hello everyone

9585480.jpg

Our fantastic organizer pkwak has suggested a proposed date for the next Sydney meeting.

=====================================

Where: Epping Creative Centre (Dence Park, 26 Stanley Road, Epping, NSW)

When: Saturday 11 November 2017 10:00AM - 5:30PM

Cost: $20.00 (Lunch will be provided)

Important Rules
1. Please note that you will be required to register upon arrival. You will be provided with a name tag and we ask that you display your name tag at all times.

2. You should bring an extension cord or power board if you can (along with other cables necessary for your setup)

3. Please be careful and respect other member's properties, ask before you pull a phone out of a plug – some amps if they are not powered down before inserting or pulling out a jack have the potential to blow. Again be very careful.

4. Be on the watch out for power cords and headphone cable on the floor and tables, you can easily knock over equipment, or hurt yourself – if this is your first meet be weary the floor will be littered with cable.

5. Please restrict consumption of food or drinks to the designated place ONLY and place all rubbish in the plastic bags provided. PLEASE also wash your hands if it is dirty before touching anything.

6. No wet hair, or put anything in their hair at all (e.g. wax, gel, mousse etc). Please also avoid strong aftershave or deodorant.

7. Please clean in and around your ears. Nobody wants their cans covered with earwax.

8. No need to panic or spoil the mood (it's unlikely I'll run off with your 10kg amp) - but leaving keys, wallets or expensive IEMs unattended might not be a good idea.

Wallet's still intact. :)

Plus I bought these tubes just recently. That Gec 6as7g pair is NOS NIB so is the Gec 6080 :) The last pair is Chatham 6080wb solid graphite plates.

I'm interested. I haven't got anything new since last meeting so I will decide what to bring later. I think @UntilThen will bring the fancy Schiit stack and everyone should try that.
btw the kangaroo in headline has been using HD800 for a while, maybe it's time to give him something new to wear lol.

I'll just bring the Schiit stack which @Jimmyboei has too. Won't bring my tube amp. Too many things to carry lol.

The kangaroo should be wearing HiFiman Susvara now. I was at the Australian HiFi Show at Hotel Intercontinental recently and heard Susvara on the Woo Audio Wa33. Bass is awesome and very smooth. So is the price. :) Addicted To Audio was displaying it for audition.

Jimmy, you can buy those and bring it alone. :)

Yes... It would be good to replace the HD800 Kangaroo with Susvara, but I don't want to give a false hope that there is going to be one at the meeting.

If anyone buys one in the meantime and bring it over to the meeting then I will modify the Kangaroo photo.

Quite a few people have tried that already ... on your setup at the last Meet.

Here are some notable quotes about the Ragnarok.... (usually I do my own impressions in my own words but these quotes are pretty spot on)

"This is the most seductive solid-state amp I've ever heard", "There are tube like qualities with Rag. Smoothness, resolution, clarity, details", "The Ragnarok is truly an end-game amp", "the beauty of the Rag's treble is its honesty without adding anything"

Schiit Ragnarok – Best solid-state amp in headphonia and the only one I think is capable of competing with the great tube amps. Highly resolving and must be careful with source. With the right pieces in place, the smoothest sounding amp, solid-state or tube I have ever heard. And with solid-state cleanness, clarity, and tautness. Best solid-state amp for HD800 period.

I'm keen, date is good. But dont want to compromise just yet, will confirm a bit later, I freelance and there is a chance I have a big job that day since its a Saturday.
I have the following:
AMB Labs M3 (M-cubed) built by me. (crap "case" thought lol)
HD800S (would love to try with better amps and cables)
Aurisonics ASG 2.5 (might have a custom cable for it by meet time)
AKG Q701
RSA Mustang P-51 mini amp

That's about it really. Is anyone from the lower north shore?

Yup I was there too, and had a good long go at this combo. I really wanted NOT to like it, but what can I say, it sounded amazing...
