Really interested in hearing about the Schiit Gadget.

The Gadget is a signal processor that “dynamically re-tunes the concert pitch of music from an assumed A=440Hz to C=256Hz”but – crucially – without altering the tempo.

According to product designer, Schiit’s Number 2 Mike Moffat, music’s tuning pitch has slowly crept upwards over time. The Gadget corrects for this drift with digital signal processing (DSP). Changes can be applied in real time with the twist of a knob with users finding their own unique “aah” point – one where, according to Moffat, music will sound more fluid and more immersive.

- blurb from Darko

Reposted from the rmaf thread: 1More triple was disappointing and I found the Fiio F9 to be much better overall. I enjoyed the open Aeon a bit more than the closed but they were both great. Advanced Sound has some very nicely-priced stuff for how good they sound. Why, oBravo, Why?

Hey guys had a super fun time yesterday. I got to walk around a little as I brought my "staff" (my wife and Rennick, my main man!) - was super impressed with the new "Gilmore lite" amp over at the head amp table. It paired super nice with the auteur which we have at their booth, it just has such a welcome, dynamic sound. I'll have to ask Peter and Michelle for the low down again on it today. Justin did a great job on this!

We have the MassDrop Cavalli cth at our table which I threw a super nice Phillips Gold pin Sq ec188 in, that amp is killer. They are doing nice things at MassDrop with some great people. Alex really killed it with the tone on this guy, it just sounds right.

I also was able to convince my buddies at JDS and schiit to have auteurs at their tables and the element and Valhalla both sound equally awesome with it.

Pumped for day two, need to make my way around the room more and check out more cool stuff.

In the $2xx range I believe. It has coax in/out so you need to run in through a Dac before connecting to Loki via rca

I was stuck by how light they are. They're way lighter than they look. It was kind of difficult to see the grain on the ebony one they had and I felt the headband could use some more padding, despite the light weight. I didn't spend enough time with them to make any definitive judgments about the sound. For the people thinking these might offer some competition to the ZMF Auteur, however, I'm sorry, but the HP-3 is not in the same league. Then again, the Auteurs I saw were plugged into some pretty nice gear and the Klipsch table was relatively bare.

Ya, amps can make a huge difference. What people need to do is compare the HP3 and Auteur on the same amp.
