Not really… the SD card for local playback is huge functionality that isn’t present and would represent a big change.

Of course- I just mean physically it's a fair bit larger than alternatives; if I want a really portable Bluetooth option I could go down to the 15, Qudelix 5K etc.

No idea how much extra physical space you’d need to add, but would be super neat if it was possible!

So does this mean @FiiO has squeezed all they can out of the design parameters of this dongle? They indicated for the M17 they've pretty much done everything they can with that design too.

I actually think it looks quite good. Better than your glass fronted sleek (read: boring) ones. I like A&K & L&P designs so take that as you will.

@FiiO can the BTR17 *please* have a Now Playing screen? Seeing the codec, bit rare and sampling frequency is helpful but having the track title, artist and album is helpfuller.

while acting in UAC mode i dont think thats possible.

i would be happy if they just put a clip on the case this time.

What i would ask is for a Bluetooth chip upgrade, they have been using the generation of bluetooth chips in the BTR3, BTR5, BTR7 BTR 13 and 15,

Would be great if they added Snapdragon sound and bluetooth 5.3 or 5.4, its still 5.0

From photos it looks like the BTR17 has a volume knob rather than the buttons which looks nice.

For a future product, I’d love something the size of the BTR7/17 with bluetooth, peq and an SD card slot for local playback (with an app to browse and select music).

Not from Fiio, but there is the Shanling H2.
The BTR7 has better sound though.

Sorry, the screen of BTR17 can display Bluetooth format, sampling rate, EQ, volume, and battery information, but cannot display track title, artist, and album. You can check our player, and the FiiO Music App can display what you need. Of course, we will also feedback your needs and suggestions for BTR17 to our engineers.

Is this a licensing or software (man-hours / development) limitation? Because even my 2017 car with BT 4.something can show this information when playing Youtube, for instance.

Does the Fiio ASIO driver support DSD playback? I’m playing DSD128 files using Foobar2000 with the ASIO component and the SACD plugin for DSD playback. The device screen shows that it’s playing DSD, but the Fiio driver settings indicate that ASIO is active but not in DSD mode, even though I have selected the ASIO DSD option in the output settings. How can I fix this?

I use BTR7 DAC mode w/ASIO driver for DSD playback using HQ Player. Works correctly and sounds good Perhaps uninstall / reinstall driver

update: i tried uninstalling and reinstalling fiio drivers aswell as asio components and even diff versions of asio yet the same result.
update 2:

got it fixed , all i need was asio+dsd and sacd input.
