My family is getting a new camcorder soon, and since I enjoy having a little fun with editing sometimes, I figured it'd be worth investing in a FireWire port for my PC. I have a single slot for a port on the front of the case. I don't know if you need specs or anything, but if someone could recommend me a good port, I'd be extremely grateful.

I'm assuming that by "a single slot on the front," you mean an open 5.25" drive bay. If your motherboard does not already have external Firewire ports on it, you'll need to check that it can accept an internal Firewire connection (which is unlikely if you don't already have FW ports on the front or back of the case).

The usual solution is to install a Firewire PCI card. Search for "firewire card" on newegg.com and you'll have a whole list of results from which to choose.
