@Shanling Any update on when the SM1.3 starts shipping? Amy update on whether reviews are currently in progress?

SM1.3 started shipping over past two weeks.

And there are some reviews being set ip.

I also cannot find Eddict control app in the iOS App Store on my iPhone or iPad. I do see it on my Android tablet’s Google Play Store, so I know what to look for/expect. When does the iOS version of Eddict control come out? I wanted to gift my dad an SM1.3 but he only has Apple devices, nothing Android.

You are right ... So you just saved me €1199,00 because I was on the verge of pre-ordering the SM1.3 ... My household consists for 90% of IOS users .. That makes the SM1.3 a no-go ... @Shanling Could you please comment on the availability of Eddict Controller for IOS?

Eddict Controller app is available directly on iOS App Store:

@Shanling Thanks for the quick reply. I am curious to see how it compares to other AIO offerings such as the Matrix Mini I4 pro, the Gold Note IS-10, the Naim Uniti Atom Heapdhone Edition and the Fiio R9 ... Also against Shanling's own EM5 and EM7 :)

Audio Science Review rated the Naim Uniti Atom streamer, DAC and integrated amplifier, albeit not the headphone edition, as poor, concluding "Performance of [the] Naim Atom ranges from fair/adequate to rather poor..." Whereas, the Matrix Audio mini-i 4 Streamer, again not the Pro, was far better received, with "The measured performance is in [the] excellent category which is nice for a streamer at this price..." as the conclusion :

I also read that ... Ironically I much prefer the Naim HE over the Matrix sonically .. I even prefer the R9 over the Matrix ... I guess it partially comes down to "the ears of the beholder" ;-)

It’s Traditional Chinese, in case your browser’s auto-detect doesn’t work. Traditional Chinese is frequently still the written form still common in Hong Kong.

There's no real comparisons in this review so it is a little bit difficult to determine at which level it performs ... Shame, I would have loved a comparison with FiiO R9 and Matrix Mini i4 PRO and a description of potential differences in the tuning between this AKM one and those ESS ones.

@Shanling On the website you state "External Drive Capacity: up to 2TB" ... What about the internal M.2 NVME SSD slot? Can that also support 4tb or 8tb? Or does "External Drive Capacity: up to 2TB" also apply to the internal drive?

Our engineers say SSD should also be limited to 2TB.

@Shanling Why 2TB limit? HDs with bigger capacities are a norm this days. Is it (the limit) hardware related? Can it be changed with firmware update in the future?
This is fairly standard for our software team, they always optimize / test the system to just 2TB.

Bigger drives should work just as fine, but it's not something we have confirmed 100%.

I have a 4tb Western Digital ready for testing purposes.. I expect my SM1.3 unit to arrive end of next week and will definitely include this aspect in my evaluation ☺️
