About vol setting: so after pressing the vol button (6'o clock) the display shows current level/ sound bar to use left and right button or top and bottom button?.....to adjust.

Correct, you do a long press on the 6 o'clock that brings out the volume setting and then you adjust it the way you describes.

Eagerly awaiting my 8GB model from Gearbest. Hopefully I'll be receiving it within the next 4-5 days. Unfortunately these don't seem to be rockboxable yet, but it's being worked on! I'd review it too, cept these will actually be my first dedicated DAP.

The X02 has capable volume especially in normal (flat) EQ setting. It can even drive my HD668B and TS-600 50mm headphones with ease. My other digital player (Q9) is not as loud and battery life can drain in less then 3 hours if left unnoticed. The X02 is more sturdy with accidents too, if you even attempt to bang the Q9 just a bit it will stay stuck and all that's left is to reboot (turn off and on again).

Cheers for the Ruizu X02!

I guess it depends on the headphones, it's not able to drive the Pro80's which I've never thought of as hard to drive. I also find that it struggles to bring out bass from the Brainwavz R3 that's a bit more hard than average to drive.

It sound seriously good with the VSD3S, XE800, Onkyo IEHF300 and other easy to drive IEM's though.

You guys might try putting recommended size microsd card, it might have longer battery life that way. :)

Not a bad idea. Personally I'd prefer more music over longer battery life (since its still over 20 hours) but others might have other priorities. I've not noticed any difference on my X3 when using different card size though.
