Though the Hifiman Arya still my all-time favorite head phone but I still long for some more bass slam from it.
Let's say price is no object, can you guys vote for a best bass slam planar headphone while it has the closest match to the Arya sound signature? Then it will be a combination of Arya detail retrieval, sound stage plus some bass slam.
Many thanks.

What immediately comes to mind is the LCD-4Z

Based solely on slam, I think the HE5XX is the best I've heard. As far as best balance between slam and deep bass I'd go with Abyss AB-1266. HE-500 kinda splits the difference between those two.

Old HE-6, Yamaha HP-1, D8KPro, LCD-4 are what you want for planar slam, no other planar really has levels of slam like those do. Add in a beefy amplifier and a Dangerous Convert 2 / Bricasti if you want the best slam possible.

HE-6 6 screw, LCD-4 (not z) are my two favorites in that regard.

I must disagree vigorously on the HE-5XX. It's fast, it's clean. The bass starts to roll off at 100 Hz. It doesn't do deep or rich. The timbre is light. Its relation to the original HE-500 is an invention of marketeers. Its actually nice for some things, but, to answer this question. No.

I recommended the LCD-4Z because I felt it was a little closer to the Arya than the 4.

I agree. But the Arya really doesn't do impact as the poster wants to get. The z is no slacker, but if you have the power, then you get better bass and more def in the mids.

I can add that if that person will do used, the HE-6SE v1 isn't that old, its membranes don't stick, and the price has to be lower than the v2. But like the other two cans I listed it wants some real power. The bass isn't as good - but - for what $400, and less than 4 years old? Not bad.

No, I totally agree with you on the bass impact of the 4. It's the other aspects of the Z, including weight that I think might be closer to the Arya. But then again, we haven't really talked about EQ for these LCDs.

Hi guys,
Thanks for your input.
Seem that LCD4 appear to be your top choice here.
How about HE1000 v2? The Arya's bigger brother is out the this bass slam team?

With the power from Audio-GD R7 R2R DAC + Audio-GD M19 headamp, I think I should have a lot of power.

No. None of the long cup HFM can match the slam of the HE-6 or the LCD4. The Susvara which formwise is between round and long cup is better in slam than the long cups. But I'm not sure it's better than the HE-6SE*, which are clearly less than the original HE-6.
