If you buy, sell, trade and return things, it's possible to get stuff that's collectively worth many times higher than your total investment...but you can also lose a ton of cash. I could have bought the car Bonddam mentioned with all the money I've lost in this hobby. :astonished:

What really sucks, though, is when you try out less popular gear and then it takes a long while to sell it off. (Whereas in-demand items can sell in a matter of hours.)

I just bought a much cheaper ebike last week (Aventon Pace 500) and have been having so much fun. I worried I would immediately regret it and wish I dumped the $1,700 into a new pair of headphones, but it’s been phenomenal. Any distance of a few miles seems like a quick ride.
