For sale: super limited production of the JM Audio Opus Summit series. This is tuned Warm but Detailed in Open Back form. These are the BioWool 32ohm drivers.

This has the fully removable metal grill which is a completely unique design and, honestly, it's still one of the most gorgeous headphones I've seen.

Has an upgraded headband. includes the fuzzy pads, leather pads, carrying case, two sets of cables that terminate to 3.5mm (with the 1/4" adapter).

Edit: Price includes shipping and all extras. Forgot to mention that. Willing to ship outside of US but at some additional cost if the shipping cost ends up being higher.

These headphones are amazing honestly but I'm looking to switch my gear up a bit and going a more closed back route. You'll probably never see another set from John like these!

Edit: added additional photos.

New Head-Fier
Do you by chance know how this compares to the XTC Open or Closed?

For all intents and purposes, I believe they use the same driver as the XTC line up just with a limited run look. In my correspondence with John about them, that's what he indicated.

Should be in the same vein as an XTC Open BioWool just without the other headband and without the wood. Like a precursor to the XTC line up from my understanding.

Tried these at Canjam. They sound incredible and compare well to the XTC Opens I have, which in turn compare well to Utopias, Final D8000s etc.

Yessir! Just a different look honestly. And I'm sure John would be willing to retune based on the person buying them.

Is warm but detailed v shaped or just a headphone with some extra bass and still has a regular amount of treble?

My take is that it's definitely a bump to the bass/extra bass and still has a great amount of treble and mids. I don't think it's full V-shaped (probably more U?)

There's another warm level that JM can do for tuning that's probably more V-shaped.

From JM's website, an example :

Scalpel Tuning
Flat Bass Scalpel
Near Scalpel (Slightly Warm with Extended Detail)
Warm Yet Detailed
Warm Warm For Tinnitus/High Frequency Sensitive

The nice thing about @John Massaria too is he can re-tune it so if anyone picks this up and find that the tuning is just slightly too warm (or more than slightly), you can send it to him and he'll re-tune (free of charge to do so based on my understanding). He's super responsive as well so you can work with him on getting it exactly as you want it.

Okay good. I can deal with U shaped usually but V shaped usually has too little mids for my preference.

John Massario has some pretty nice designs.

Amazing designs, honestly. I'm sad that this look isn't in his regular line up but the XTC designs are all phenomenal. When I was at Socal CanJam, I'd had a few people ask me what they were and actually had a few people listen to them there.
