Burson Soloist 3X Performance Balanced Headphone Amplifier/Pre Amp
Well-reviewed Burson Soloist 3XP with 5A Super Charger and Orange Discrete Op Amps for a punchier, warm-leaning presentation. Endgame headphone amp; excellent sound stage, dynamic, and powerful enough for any can (8 Wpc, full Class A). All discrete circuitry for a dynamic, spacious, transparent reproduction of music. Great build quality, as you expect with such a unit - this thing is solid. All the inputs and outputs you could need - great as a pre-amp too.
The Burson Super Charger 5A included with this listing increases the blackness of the background, which brings out microdetail. This upgraded power supply also increases the amplifier's control over the upper frequencies and adds low end punch.
I ran this with a HE1000se and a Schiit Gumby MB A2 and the the stock Vivid Op Amps left something to be desired. The Orange Op Amps add a touch of warmth that other forum users have suggest compliments the neutral-leaning DAC and headphone I was using it with. The Orange Op Amps in the volume stage and the Burson Vivids in the input stage adds just a touch of warmth needed by my chain to bring the HE1000se to life. What that meant in terms of sound was a lot more macro dynamic impact, and more holographic images. The addition of the Orange Op Amps were shockingly transformative for my chain. If you have a warmer DAC or headphone on your chain, you may find the stock Burson Vivids to be spot on. 4x Burson Vivids and 2x Orange Op Amps are included in this sale, so you can't go wrong either way.
