Shanling ET3 - Dedicated Digital CD Transport, With USB Drive and Wi-Fi Support

Awesome! I have been waiting for something like this for some time. I mainly play flac files using foobar but sometimes I just want to hear a cd when I first get it.. (yes, I still buy cd's) ... Currently I have to put the cd into my office PC, rip it, choosing art/verifying the db info...

I agree about the Mini S openness; and improved texture.. I gave up some privacy over the C version to get it... and is worth it for the reduced congestion. In a dead silent room my wife can hear the music. She can't always tell what song it is but she can definitely hear it... and doesn't...

Review: ETA headphones S and C versions

Since I started this thread, thought I'd add that ETA developed a new cable and I'm now using that with these headphones. I posted about it in another ETA thread, but thought I'd put it here to be organized/thorough. Also.. an update about my experience with the ETA mini S in general: I have...

Cool, so yet again, I learn that cables matter. :) Here's what Tom had to say when I asked for details/offerings:

Tom said it's Neotech, basically this is what it looks like: https://wp.neotechcable.com/earphone-headphone-cable/ Tom alluded to doing some extensive work voicing this to their headphone's sound.. I've asked for more details in that regard... but all I know is, it took my listening enjoyment...

This cable does appear to be a Litz braid of some sort. I'll take a photo soon. Work has been high demand this week.

It's interesting what you're describing, Chesebert. I was struggling with that last piece of refinement that I was looking for in a nice set of 'phones. I am genuinely content with the S version and they are far better than the cans I've had in the past. But they whet my appetite for that...

Review: ETA headphones S and C versions

I found the same as Chesebert.. These cans sound pretty good out of anything I've connected it to... but on SE I noticed a pretty good improvement cable swapping some cheap cables.... the ones ETA sent me for SE were better than the ones I bought from Amazon... just overall smoother and less...

Review: ETA headphones S and C versions

I look at cables as the last synergistic 'touch' in the chain... It's an opportunity to augment what I like about a system.. whether it's headphones or external. So my goal is refinement and not to have a big difference. That said a small change can have a big impact on my enjoyment. :) So...

Have you experimented with different cables on the model S, Jinxy? I know ETA is working on some options... and I've used the ninja cables.. but only with 4.4 balanced out. I don't have others to try in that configuration... If I ever get time, I will compare some varieties and report back...

    ETA Mini headphone

Has anyone experimented with cables on the mini's? I usually listen through a ifi dac, that has 1 4.4mm balanced out and 1 6.6mm out. I have a ninja cable 4.4mm balanced. I'd like a 3.5mm stereo replacement cable, and if it came with a 6.6mm size adapter, that'd be great. I have checked out...

I agree, they're very easy to drive. If you give them a good source, they let all the extra detail come through, top to bottom. I'm really happy with the 'S'. It's really satisfying straight out of my phone's headphone jack, too. I especially like the light weight, portability, and general...
