You're welcome. The AC has the stock Caldera lambskin pads on, and the CC has the Caldera thick lambskin pads.- erics75

ATTICUS and EIKON, the new dynamic driver headphones from ZMF
Actually quite the opposite. The Atticus/Aeolus driver thrives on tubes, moreso than most ZMFs. The Bokeh is pretty decent on the Midgard, but the Atticus will sound very overdampened and dull. Move it to amps like the Echo 2 and it will sound much much better. I love the Atticus, I can't bring...- erics75

ATTICUS and EIKON, the new dynamic driver headphones from ZMF
I would say if you're missing the Aeolus bad the Atticus would be an excellent replacement with a slightly thicker midrange. It's going to be softer and smoother than the Bokeh, with more forward mids and much less forward treble. To me the Bokeh sounds like an maturing and evolution of the...- erics75

ATTICUS and EIKON, the new dynamic driver headphones from ZMF
They share the same driver and have a very similar tuning. There's differences for sure, but same base profile. Warm, lush, thick, smooth. Pad rolling will of course alter that. I found they sounded so similar I only needed one.- erics75

I got sidetracked with obsessing over Aegis tube options and never gave my thoughts after the day ended. First, the AC and CC are excellent compliments to each other, IMO. When you want warm, smooth, darker, romantic/euphonic tuning, the AC is a home run. On the other side the CC excels at...- erics75

I know resolve is well regarded but I just cannot triangulate anything he's saying here to what I'm hearing. If he was talking about the AC maybe, but not the CC. i've not heard the Envy so maybe that's contributing to the impressions, but just seems a bit off.- erics75

ZMF Aegis Official Thread
I was so torn on those kt8c tubes, now I’m kinda kicking myself for not adding them. Honestly I’m surprised the 120v didn’t sell out day one. There’s been so much buzz about it I thought it was going to be sold out in minutes. I was online and ready to order exactly at 630 pst in fear I’d miss...- erics75

Excellent reply above, very informative! And that makes total sense as you explained it as that’s what I’m hearing and getting fixated on, but trying to explain it in basic FR terms. I’ll say this, the CC isn’t that far off the CO in impulse response. When rapid swapping sets you’ll hear it. But...- erics75

Yeah these Calderas are quite disruptive to my norms. Despite the COs brightness I also find it a touch thicker in the low mids so it’s really throwing me for a loop. I should be running screaming from it, but instead I keep seeing it out. I also perceive a slightly pinched or nasal tone on the...- erics75

Anyone running their CC meshless? I've been going back and forth between the CO and CC tonight and the one thing that really stands out to me is the added clarity of the CO. Comparing on the same system with same cable, just swapping headphones. The CO is a touch more efficient, or less...- erics75

Sorry missed the cc vs co for metal question. Not in depth. I really need to get them side by side more. Right now I listen all day to the cc at work then switch to the co after work, with limited side by side time. As of right now I prefer the co overall to the cc, but the cc is still breaking...- erics75

They’re very different to me. I actually was comparing them at work today and was really surprised how different they are. The AC is about warmth and fullness. The CC is more about technical’ prowess and clarity. Very complimentary sets imo.- erics75

It’s all about preference. I find the CC thin in comparison to the AC and that takes away some of the power of metal for me. I do love the sound of guitars with the CC though. And I’m very mood based so I’ll seek speed and precision one day then warmth and thickness the other. Nice track! Love...- erics75
