The subbass is more elevated on the AC, but it’s equally extended on the CC without being elevated. Sound stage feels more holographic on the CC. Neither of these headphones is lacking in neither of those areas but, relatively speaking, they defer in how they present them from each other.- goldwerger

Sounds like something I’d want to try with EL37.. If there were two things I could change on the DIY it would be to move the impedance up to the front and add a 4-pin XLR out. You have done it right- goldwerger

Have only been listening so far with the Protein pads (which...- goldwerger

Super curious how you find the ECC35 in this combo (as I have the EL37 and GZ34) Vu meters are the thing these days... ;) Having the gain setting upfront vs. hard-to-reach dip switches is a nice change- goldwerger

iFi hip-dac 3 - at $200, fantastic performance to value off my iPhone, driving both IEMs and headphones while sounding great CFA Fathom - at $1,050, one of my most enjoyable recent purchases. Didn’t know the price when I demo-ed and may have bought them for double that. Just pure fun. Modhouse...- goldwerger

+1 on Forza recommendations above for good value to price. For 10ft you may want to try their Claire Hybrid which is thinner (may be more comfortable for such a long run) and affordable. Have couple of those and like them.- goldwerger
